This guide will teach you how to print on Chromebook in a few easy steps.

The Print function on Chromebook is uncomplicated and direct. There are a couple of ways you can print on a Chromebook. While Chromebook is compatible with almost every printer in the market, it does not support Bluetooth printers. You can print on Chromebook either directly via the keyboard, or you can print it via the navigation box on Chrome.

To be able to print on the Chromebook, your printer needs to be connected to the Chromebook. It can be connected physically via a USB cable (you might need an adapter, depending on the model), or it can be connected via the same network that your Chromebook is connected with.

Click the Navigate button

Click the navigate button (the 3 vertical dots ) in the top right corner of the screen once you have the document or image you want to print open.

Select print option / use keyboard shortcut

Select the Print option from the dropdown menu.

Or if you want to go with the direct route, simply press “Ctrl + P” on the keyboard.

If you opt to use “Ctrl + P”, then you don’t need to press the navigate button in the first place.

Confirm print options & print

Now a menu should be open with the printing options. Make sure that you have the correct printer selected and set the other options – such as layout, color, and number of copies.

Once everything looks correct, simply click ‘Print’.

Getting The Print Option

If you are having trouble finding the print option or cannot see your printer from the navigation menu, follow the below steps.

  • Step 1: Hit the settings option on the chrome menu.
  • Step 2: Select the “Advanced” option from it.
  • Step 3: Select the “Printing” option. Then select Printers from it.
  • Step 4: If your printer is connected to the Chromebook via a USB cable, it will appear in the printers section. If not, then connect the USB cable on both sides. Also, if your printer is connected via the same network as your Chromebook, then it will automatically appear in the printer section.
  • Step 5: You can select the “Add Printer” option and name your printer. It helps when you want to use the printer again in the future. 

Connecting the Printer Physically with Your Chromebook

  • Step 1: Use a USB Cable to attach one end of the cable to your Chromebook and the other end to the printer. 
  • Step 2: A pop-up will appear, click on it and select the option “printer.”
  • Step 3: Click on your printer, and then click on the “Add” button to finish the procedure. 

Connecting the Printer to the Network

For the printer(Wireless) to work, first, connect the printer to your network(Internet)

  • Step 1: Start your printer.
  • Step 2: Once your printer is turned on, connect it to a network. 
  • Step 3: If you have a problem connecting the printer to the network, read the manual that comes with the printer for further help.
  • Step 4: Use the same network that you have used to connect the printer to connect with your Chromebook.

Yes, you can print via the Chromebook to any old or new model printer that is available. Chromebook is compatible with every printer.
