Both the RTX 3080 Ti and the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti are powerful graphics cards intended for both gaming and content creation. When choosing which card is best for you, you may want to take into consideration the distinctions between the two.
The amount of memory (VRAM) that each card has is one of the key distinctions between the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti. For some tasks, such as high-resolution gaming or the use of graphically intensive software, the RTX 3080 Ti’s additional VRAM (10GB vs 8GB) may be advantageous.

A card may be able to store more data and possibly perform better when performing tasks that demand a lot of memory if it has more VRAM. The two cards’ core counts are another distinction.

Last but not least, the RTX 3080 Ti costs more than the RTX 4070 Ti on average. The cost differential between the two cards will vary depending on the exact models and shops, but the RTX 3080 Ti is often more expensive than the RTX 4070 Ti. If your system build or update has a set budget, this can be something to take into account.

When comparing graphics cards, we can look at 3DMarks benchmarks. On there we compare the graphical scores achieved by the cards. The 4070 Ti achieves a score of 22,652, whilst the 3080 Ti gets a score of 19,581. So that means the 4070 Ti is 15.7% better than the 3080 Ti.
Along with the improvements in architecture, there has also been a speed-up in processing. This is likely from the move back to TSMC and a smaller processor. So the base clock has increased from 1,365 MHz in the 3080 Ti to 2,310 MHz in the 4070 Ti. As well as the boost clock goes up from 1,665 MHz to 2,610 MHz. This means the 4070 Ti is 69% faster in the base clock and 56.8% faster in the boost clock than the 3080 Ti.
