4K gaming is becoming simpler every day thanks to the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Any game you choose can be played at its highest settings in 4K resolution with any of the current generation graphics cards without having to worry about the framerate dropping.
The newest top-of-the-line AMD RDNA 3 architecture-based next-generation gaming GPU 7900 XTX outperforms its predecessors significantly. AMD completely redesigned RDNA 3’s handling of ray tracing, improving not just the RT accelerators’ base performance but also introducing two specifically designed AI accelerators per CU for the first time.
If you want to play high-end 4K games but don’t want to shell out an extra $200 for the RTX 4080, the AMD RX 7900 XT is a superb GPU. The XTX variant competes with Nvidia’s RTX 4090 thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6 memory. A huge deal is the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1, especially for VR players and those hoping to use the first 8K gaming displays when they become available.
Although they aren’t doing anything right now, you have to anticipate that the AI accelerators will play a significant role in the next-generation FSR 3.0, which has already been hinted at as coming in 2024.
The Radeon RX 7900 XTX meets the ray tracing performance levels of the previous-generation RTX 3090, which was the best graphics card up until a few months ago. This shows how far AMD has come in this area. Ray tracing is no longer an AMD flaw but is still clearly an Nvidia strength.
That makes sense, given that Nvidia is a generation ahead of the competition and has been introducing RT and AI hardware since the RTX 20 series was released. It’s important to note that, now that it has gained some traction, AMD’s FSR upscaling technology is being more widely used.
