These two cards are evenly matched on the paper. With a lower production node and faster clock rates, AMD’s GPU processor performs just marginally better, leading to better pixel and texture rates. However, the Nvidia 3090 Ti has twice the memory bandwidth, 50% more VRAM, and more than 100% more shaders. This increases its TFLOP capacity, enabling it to catch up to AMD’s superior processor.
The most powerful model from Nvidia consumes 115 more watts than AMD’s rival. The 6950 XT uses an average of 2.17 watts per frame compared to the 3090 Ti’s 2.83, which is a significant difference. Because the AMD GPU is so much more effective, you can utilize a PSU with a lower rating.

Its enormous memory advantage will provide the best performance, especially as panels with 8K resolution and higher panels become more common.
However, the 6950 XT is unquestionably sufficient for the needs of the majority of gamers if you’re only working with a limited budget and want to purchase more expensive components and accessories.
The RTX 3090 Ti is certainly the best desktop GPU of it’s generation, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore AMD’s RX 6950 XT as a cheaper alternative. If you want something even more powerful, you’ll have to look towards the top end of the newest generation – RTX 40-series or RX 7000 series.
