How to connect two AirPods to one phone?
Step
Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn it on. You can also do so by tapping on the Bluetooth icon in the Control Center of your iPhone.
Step
Connect both pairs of AirPods
For the first set of AirPods, open their charging case and you will see a setup window on your iPhone. Tap Connect and then close this window.
For the second set of AirPods, first, open the lid of the charging case with your AirPods still inside. Now press and hold the setup button on the back of the case. This will prompt the setup window to appear. Tap Connect > Done, and then close this window.
If your primary AirPods are already paired with your iPhone, you will just need to put them into your ears to connect to them.
Step
Select AirPlay
Open the Control Center on your iPhone and tap on the AirPlay icon on the top right. It looks like a triangle with a number of concentric circles surrounding it.
Step
Select both AirPods to connect
In the AirPlay window, you will see both sets of AirPods. Tap on the circle next to both of these AirPods to connect to them. The audio will now be audible on both sets of AirPods.
You can also control the audio for both of these sets by going to AirPlay and controlling the volume sliders under their names.
Simple, right? Now go ahead and try it out!

It’s actually surprising that you’re allowed to do this, as Apple has, historically at least, been quite difficult when it comes to this sort of workaround business.
