If you’re looking for the best gaming laptop for Saints Row, or are asking yourself ‘can my laptop run Saints Row?’ this is the page for you my friend. We’ll be discussing the Saints Row laptop requirements, as well as suggesting several gaming laptops to run the game at different resolutions, on different settings.

Can you play Saints Row on a laptop and get good FPS?

Saints Row (2022) is a fairly demanding game, particularly on the higher resolutions and settings. You can play the game on any reasonably powerful laptop from the last few years and still get around 60FPS if you don’t mind turning the settings down, however if you’re looking for higher frames than this, or the same frames on medium-Ultra settings or 1440p/4K resolution, you’ll need to have a machine with a bit of oomph behind it.

Although Saints Row has a lot of shooting and fast-paced action, you don’t quite need the same FPS (or display refresh rate) as you would in a competitive online first-person shooter or the like. 60-100FPS will be good enough for the majority of users to have an enjoyable playing experience, but we wouldn’t recommend running it on a rig (or with graphical settings) that will perform substantially below this.

Will Saints Row play as well on a laptop as on a desktop?

As with all gaming laptops, you won’t get the same level of FPS performance as you would on a desktop PC for the same budget, but you do get the additional advantages of portability, and if you’ve got the dosh you can spend a bit more to achieve the same level of performance. Below we’ve listed some options you should consider if you’re interested in buying a new gaming laptop for Saints Row.

Saints Row (2022) recommended specifications (desktop)

The following recommended specs for Saints Row are the ones given by the developers themselves, though they pertain to desktop gaming PCs, not laptops. For more detail on the desktop requirements, read our Saints Row system requirements page.

In the vast majority of cases, the processor and graphics card of a gaming laptop is underpowered compared to the desktop equivalents (even if they have the same model name), so we’d advise assuming the next model/SKU up is what you’ll need to generate a similar level of performance as the desktop CPU/GPU.

Helpfully Deep Silver has listed the recommended specs for different resolutions, and stated the FPS you’re likely to get with these specs. Though they haven’t discussed what graphical presets you’ll have to use to achieve this performance, it usually pays to err on the side of caution and assume it might not be the highest settings.

All this considered, further down this page we’ve listed a few laptop models at different budget levels that should help you achieve above 60FPS at least, for each of the different resolutions.

Cheap gaming laptop for Saints Row at 1080p

The good old MSI GF65 Thin has been reliable, yet affordable, gaming laptop under $1,000 for years now. Every year MSI brings it up to date with a newer GPU & GPU option, the latest of which comes with an RTX 3060 graphics card and the option for an Intel Core i7-10750H. For a game like Saints Row, you’ll definitely need to go for this most powerful loadout (avoid the RTX 2060 one for instance). The biggest downside of this machine is that you’ll really need to upgrade the RAM from the measly 8GB it comes with. You can read our How to upgrade RAM on laptops guide on how to go about doing this (it’s not difficult, we promise!). You can have a look at our best gaming laptop under $1,000 guide for more options if you’re not convinced with this model.

Best value gaming laptop for Saints Row at 1440p / high FPS at 1080p

If you want to play Saints Row on a laptop at 1440p on the highest settings then the ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition offers unbeatable value. This AMD CPU and GPU-equipped gaming laptop performs about as well as an RTX 3070 laptop (though with inferior RTX performance), and a fantastic 165Hz QHD display (a 300Hz FHD version is available, though that’s only really worth it for competitive first-person shooters). This would also make a great option if you’re looking for a gaming laptop to play Saints Row at 1080p, but with higher FPS than the cheaper model above can manage.

Although the laptop does, unfortunately, lack a webcam, it hits very hard in FPS terms compared to the other gaming laptops in its price range – you won’t find value like it. If you’re still committed to an Nvidia gaming laptop however, check out some of the other options available in our best gaming laptop under $1,500 list.

Best gaming laptop for Saints Row at 4K

Most 4K laptops until recently had a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz, which isn’t the worst thing in the world for a game like Saints Row. Ultimately though, if you’re spending this much on a laptop, we’d at least expect to get 100Hz out of it (also assuming you’ll be wanting to play other games as well). Thankfully 2022 has seen a good range of 120Hz 4K gaming laptops released, though the downside is that they all cost a lot of money. The latest iteration of the MSI GE76 Raider is an absolute beast, and the RTX 3080 Ti version is more than capable of playing Saints Row even at 4K resolution. Alternatively, if you’re looking for something with a bit more functionality as a creative/streaming laptop, you may want to check out the resolution switching display option for the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16.
