Destiny 2 has got a whole new event going on at the minute. Both free players and paid players who opted into the new 30th Anniversary of Bungie are now getting the chance to get new content and experience new challenges, quests, and group activities. One of these new activities have you looking to collect the new Destiny 2 Forerunner catalyst, content that players of the free event can earn by playing the new event’s content.

If you’re not interested in playing the premium version of the Bungie 30th anniversary, then Forerunner will be your prize. The Forerunner is a new spin on the Halo universe, taking the popular Halo sidearm and adding a new Destiny spin.  Unlike its Magnum half-sister, this one has a pretty big kick to it.

How to get the Destiny 2 Forerunner?

The quest comes from two primary candidates, Xur, who is at the heart of the new event questlines. The other is the new six-player free content, the Dares of Eternity. Complete the Dares of Eternity and return to the Xur to kick start the Destinty 2 Forerunner.

When you get the quest, you will have to go ahead and collect Strange Coins, which are awarded in the Dares of Eternity, or any other form of public activity for that matter. You might have a better chance of getting them from the 30th Anniversary related content since that is what people are doing for the next few days.

These coins play an essential role in you getting more bounties to do. These rewards grant your reputation with Xur for the new rep system associated with the event. You need to grind rep to level 4 with Xur so you can purchase the Strange Key, not from this reality. How spooky.

When you get your hands on the key, you’ll need to walk around the new zone. Theresa spot has several blocks lined up awkwardly, which one Redditor realised looks like the Bungie logo. Use the key there, and you’ll move onto the next level. And there you go, you get the gun from Banshee intact. Enjoy!

How to get the Destiny 2 Forerunner Catalyst?

As it stands, the Destiny 2 Forerunner Catalyst remains a mystery to the player base. Many players think the mysterious, exotic item you can get from Xur in the new reputation at rank 16 is the key. However, no one seems to have made it to that point. Expect to keep grinding those Strange Coins for daily and weekly duties to ensure you get there before the event ends.

We will update the article when we know more about the Destiny 2  Foreruuner Catalyst. However, we are working full time, so more than likely, pay attention to social spaces on Destiny 2, such as Reddit, Twitter, or Discords, to see if someone figures it out.
