The new COD patch notes are here for the holiday event which crosses both Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Pacific.
Get ready to deck the halls with the bodies of your opposition as you drop into new festive Call of Duty maps, participate in holiday-exclusive events and exploit a massive XP boost, all while trying to avoid creepy Krampus. Call of Duty’s Festive Fervor event is here, and this stocking is just chock full of exciting gifts. While the event takes place across both Vanguard as well as Warzone, you can get in on the action without having purchased Vanguard, as it’s also a Free Access weekend.
Call of Duty Warzone Pacific Festive Fervor
Keep reading to find out more about the major changes that are coming to Warzone Pacific during Festive Fervor, as they are also happening in Vanguard as well. However, you will also notice a few visual changes across Caldera, as crates get a holiday-themed overhaul.
Festive Fervor in Call of Duty Vanguard
New mode — Armageddon
In the spirit of giving, new(ish) mode Armageddon – previously known as Drop Zone – is all about the Care Packages. Two teams will drop into the map and fight to take control of a specific area, where Care Packages continue to drop until enough of them have been collected. Then, the zone moves and the process starts again. The only way to earn points in this slight twist on Drop Zone is through kills, though, so you’d better make sure you and your team are ready to tear open those Care Packages as they drop, you’ll need every gift you can get.
Shipment gets gift-wrapped
Popular map Shipment is being rebranded as Shipmas for the duration of the holidays, with giant gifts replacing containers, and a thick layer of snow covering the ground. You’ll also spot some differences in Zombies, as Der Anfang gets a festive makeover. The Gunbench also has a new Christmas aesthetic, and you’ll even notice some changes to modes like Domination and Hardpoint.
Festive Fervor bonuses spanning both Vanguard and Warzone
Hunt down Elf Team Six
The adorably creepy (if that’s a thing) Elf Team Six are waiting around the map for you. Can you find them before they find you? If you do, take them out and you’ll be rewarded with match and killstreak progress. Beware, though, they’re small and highly-trained operatives.
Krampus is coming to town
Not only do you have to be aware of those sneaky Elves, but there’s a bigger threat awaiting you in any of your Multiplayer matches. Alpine anti-Santa Krampus isn’t going after children this year, instead, he’s going after those with less-than-impressive skill in COD Vanguard and Warzone Pacific. Lowest score? Terrible Hardpoint time? Minimal Domination captures? You may find yourself targeted by Krampus. You will be warned of his presence, but by then it’s likely too late. You might be able to take him down before he gets you, but it won’t be easy, so let’s you’ve been good this year and karma’s got your back.
New Challenges, Rewards and discounts
You’ll also find there’s a sack-full of treats awaiting you in both Vanguard and Warzone Pacific during the course of the event in the form of new items to either earn or buy. And with 12 Festive Days of Deals, there’s also no better time to pick up those items you’ve been pining after.
