What’s the Fortnite PlayStation Cup?
Fortnite and PlayStation have teamed up to hold a competition.
Epic Games and Sony are working together on a Fortnite eSports tournament, exclusively for people that play the Battle Royale on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The total prize pool is $113,400 in October and $113,400 in November, so it’s nothing to sniff at.
It’s been a somewhat quiet year for competitive Fortnite, especially with the cancelation of the 2021 Fortnite World Cup due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. We’re sure that plenty of experienced professionals and rising stars alike have been waiting for a shot at such an impressive prize pool, so this might just be what they’ve been looking for.
How do I compete in the Fortnite PlayStation Cup?
If you want to play in the Fortnite PlayStation Cup, you’ll need to be on a PlayStation 4 or a PlayStation 5 running the latest version of the Fortnite game. Once logged in there, you’ll find it under the “Competition” tab on the lobby screen.
In Round 1, you’ll have 10 matches to get as many points in as you can. If you’re in the Top 100 players, then you’ll progress to Round 2. In Round 2, you’ll only play 6 matches, but the points gathered from battles are higher.
Players must have 2-Factor Authentication turned on and have an account level of at least 30 to take part.
When is the Fortnite PlayStation Cup?
The Fortnite PlayStation Cup starts on October 2, 2021. Each round lasts for approximately three hours.
