When a new season of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 launches, it’s typical to expect a mid-season update known as Reloaded. Reloaded is finally about to start, and we have everything you need to know before it fully launches.

Mw2 Season 3 Reloaded brings the new Alboran Hatchery Core Multiplayer map, two new full-auto sidearms, Raid Episode 03, a new DMZ experience, and the premiere of Warzone 2.0 Ranked Play. Below we’ll go over everything you need to know about the reloaded release.

MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded release date window

MW2 Season 3 Reloaded arrived on May 10, 2023. This was actually a bit sooner than we expected, with many anticipating the Reloaded event to fall on Friday 12. It most likely came earlier so it doesn’t compete with the Diablo 4 Server Slam Beta and the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Prior to the release, we had a ton of information already accessible courtesy of the Call of Duty blog, which we go into below.

MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded Roadmap

We’ve already gone over the Season 3 roadmap, but what’s going on with Reloaded? Thankfully, we’ve got a ton of details which we’ll summarize below. For Modern Warfare 2, expect to see the following coming as part of Reloaded:

  • Raid Episode 03: Follow Price, Farah, and Alex as they push deeper into the Soviet base in pursuit of Hadir and a missing armament.
  • Special Ops Mission: Defender — Hafid Port: Defend against increasingly challenging waves of enemies in Al Mazrah’s Hafid Port.
  • Alboran Hatchery 6v6 MP Map: A medium-sized core map experience set on a remote, windswept facility.
  • Giant Infection, 3v3 Faceoff: Experience Infected on a massive scale and engage in small team skirmishes with the return of Faceoff. This close-range battle will be dominated by semi-automatic weapons and machine pistols.

In Warzone, expect to see the following coming as part of Reloaded:

  • Up Your Game with New Features: The midseason update expands your tactical options with Perk Packages plus the Deployable Buy Station and Gulag Entry Kit.
  • New DMZ Experience: Take the high risk and earn valuable rewards by entering the Koschei Complex. Here, you’ll have to sneak in to a subterranean bunker complex, while battling some tough enemies.
  • Warzone Ranked Play: Push your skills to the limit in Warzone Ranked Play, featuring competitive settings, a progressive ranking system, and seasonal rewards. This new ranked mode will be an addition to the other game modes introduced.

The Ranked mode is probably the most anticipated. The skill rating system in this new multiplayer mode will most likely be judged heavily. It could be based on match performance or maybe more toward how you do in multiple matches. There could also be new assault rifles, different smg loadouts, sniper rifles, attachments, and elimination rules.

We’ll have to check the patch notes and the visual skill system to see what is judged.

Elsewhere, new weapons including a sharp projectile will be coming to MW2 via the Reloaded update. Here’s a complete view of other general items and features arriving:

  • Earn Season 03 Weapon Camos: Complete challenges to get not one, but two new Weapon Camos for every weapon category in the game.
  • Two New Secondary Weapons, and one sharp projectile: Unload on your enemies with two new Handguns launching with the midseason update. The first is called the FTAC Siege, the other is called the GS Magna—and resembles a Desert Eagle.
  • Both are fully automatic for the ultimate close-quarters protection. Plus, the Throwing Star becomes a Lethal part of your arsenal.
  • The Reaper Comes to Call of Duty: Arguably a G.O.A.T. at his own game, #35, KD, Kevin Durant, is dropping in to take over ours.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Plunder is back, as well as a number of throwback packs – including weapon audio from the original 2009 version of Modern Warfare 2. That summarizes just about everything we know about the upcoming release of Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded. We’ll see you on May 10!

How big will MW2 Season 3 Reloaded be?

While it’s only a prediction, we can infer that from Season 3’s size of 20.9GB on PlayStation 4, 18.3GB on PlayStation 5, and 37GB on PC, the Season 3 Reloaded size will be near and around that size too. Previous Seasons and their Reloaded updates have shared similar sizes in the past.

We expect this reloaded update to have new store bundle deals, preset perk packages, and supply boxes for fans of the series.

Is MW2 Season 3 Reloaded the mid-season update?

Yes. Reloaded updates are MW2’s answer to mid-season updates. This is a good time to patch and fix whilst also bringing in new content.

Is MW2 Season 3 Reloaded the final update?

Season 3 Reloaded is the final update of Season 3 as a whole, but it’s not known whether its the last update in MW2. This is unlikely.
