Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon’s Keep is now live on the Epic Game Store. And, what makes it better is that it is launching as a free game until November 16. What is Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure?
Tiny Tina is the upcoming fresh IP made under the Gearbox banner. If you cast your minds back to E3 2021, Gearbox came out with a surprise new IP, the Wonderland series, featuring Tiny Tina, a charismatic character, inspired by the popular tabletop RPG games such as DnD or Pathfinder, with a Borderlands 3 looter spin. If you are a die-hard Borderlands 2 fan, you’ll recognize that Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure is a direct modern revamp of the Borderlands 2 DLC, which arrived in 2013, the inspiration of this entire new IP from Gearbox.
While that game is not due until March 2022, there is instead a standalone game that serves as a tease now available on the EGS. You and your coop friends can go in together, and smash skeletons, fight dragons and face other monsters and mythos in classic RPG fashion.
The game is pretty much a follow up to the Borderlands 2 DLC, Assault on Dragon Keep, which had players take on a fantasy RPG setting rather than the space colony shoot ‘em up they are used to throughout the series.
When you get into Tiny Tina’s Wonderland Assault on Dragon Keep, you have the choice to play six different characters. These six vagabonds you get to choose from all embark on the same quest. The Queen has been captured and her kingdom is in peril. Your job is to go out there, fight through the forests of the kingdom, the crypts, graveyards and other typical RPG settings in the hope to return peace and tranquillity to the kingdom, along with rescuing the queen.
If you miss out on grabbing the promotion, then the game will cost £7.99 at full price, aka $9.99 or €9.99. This is coincidentally the same price as the DLC for Borderlands 2. If you’ve missed out on that DLC, now is your chance to get this new Wonderlands launch. Alternatively, why not play through it again as it is an eight-year-old DLC at this point to get yourself ready for that big day in March 2022.
