That’s right, folks. Secretlab is now selling replacement armrests for the Titan EVO 2022 Series. Let’s see if they’re a worthwhile upgrade.

We’ve been big fans of Secretlab here at WePC for a few years now. Their gaming chairs have continued to be unmatchable in terms of comfort, ergonomics, and build quality.

The only downside to Secretlab chairs has been the cost. They are almost always the most expensive gaming chair options. Unsurprisingly this means that the new Secretlab Plushcell armrests are also correspondingly expensive. But are they w worth the price?

You might have already noticed that the idea of covering literal armrests strikes us as a bit funny. But we’re going to try anyway. Let’s see how it goes.

What are the Secretlab Plushcell armrests?

The Plushcell armrests are the first in a line of armrest upgrades for the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Series gaming chair.

When that chair was first released, the magnetic armrests were good fun to play with, but the detachable magnetic nature of them seemed kind of pointless.

We then learned that Secretlab was planning to release replacement armrests of various types to better customize the chair to your specific needs.

Now, almost exactly a year after the release of the Titan EVO 2022 series, we’ve finally managed to get our hands on the Secretlab Plushcell armrests and we really like them, but what’s new about them?

The Plushcell armrests offer a pretty comprehensive upgrade over the stock armrests that ship with the Titan EVO 2022. there almost twice as thick, and are made from the same fantastic memory foam used in the magnetic neck pillow.

This gives them a far more squishy feeling over the far firmer stock armrests, causing your elbows to more comfortably sink into them. If you’re after pure comfort, then you won’t be disappointed here.

Additionally, all this lovely memory foam is upholstered in jet-black velour. This makes for a stealthy, blacked-out look. But if you’re not looking to fly under the rader, they’re also available in a pastel pink or light grey.

Regardless of the color you shoose, you’ll notice a subtly shiny strip of material that traces around the edge. This matches with the shiny, armrest adjustment controls and we really like how they complement eachother.

Are the Secretlab Plushcell armrests worth it?

Given the $70 price point, justifying the cost was always going to be tricky. But after a few days of use, we found it really difficult to go back to the original armrests.

The sensation of sinking into the Secretlab Plushcell armrests took sitting in the Titan EVO 2022 from the premium seat that we were used to one of the most lexurious experiences we’ve had recently.

But is all this additional comfort worth the cost?

Well, we mentioned the expensive nature of Secretlab product earlier, and it bares relevance here too as the person who can afford the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 Series chair will be able to afford the extra $70 for the Plushcell amrests.

We hope Secretlab takes a more car-adjecent route to marketing the armrests, perhaps offering them as an optional extra when you by the chair at a lower cost.

It’s worth noting here that if memory foam and velour aren’t your bag, Secretlab are also making “Technogel” armrests. These will supposedly more effectively dissapate heat away from the body. Which could be particularly beneficial for those of you who run hot.

Secretlab Plushcell armrests: Final verdict

Overall, we defintely recommend the Plushcell armrests as they enhance the already excellent comfort of the Secretlab TITAN EVO 2022 Series. Unfortunately they are not compatible with any other chair. This means that you are SOL if you’ve got the Omega series chair, or an older variant of the titan.

So, if you’ve got the disposable income to invest in these, they will certainly improve the overall experience of the Titan EVO 2022, but they are by no means a ‘must buy’ item.
