By the time the Vive XR Elite lands on shelves and doorsteps the world over, we’ll have provided answers for everything you’ll need regarding it. For now though, what size room do you need for the Vive XR Elite?
What size room do you need for the Vive XR Elite?
Luckily, HTC has been pretty forthcoming with this information, bucking the trend of staying silent until release, a trend that most tech companies are guilty of perpetuating, to be honest.
According to the official Product page for the Vive XR Elite, you need a 1.5m x 1.5m minimum play area. This, coincidentally, is the same recommendation for the PSVR 2 play area.
However, we reiterate that this is a minimum play area. So, given the standalone nature of the Vive XR Elite, your potential bounds are far larger. in fact, you can have up to a 10m x 10m play area with the Vive XR Elite.
Obviously, we aren’t sure who has that much free space, though it could be good for business and enterprise use cases. For gaming, however, it’s unlikely that players will be able to fully utilize a 10m x 10m play area, though it’s nice to have.
