AMD is planning to release its Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 series CPUs in late September, along with its flagship X670E and X670 AM5 motherboards. The Zen 4 architecture contains four CPUs, and our processor of choice today is the Ryzen 7 7700X. Here’s our “where to buy” including AMD Ryzen 7 7700X release date predictions and price.

The Ryzen 7 7700X is said to be the budget-friendly powerhouse ready to bring more than just bang-for-the-buck performance to the table. The 7700X features massive core speed and IPC improvements over the 5700X, and hints at a performance increase of up to 35% in some scenarios. 

Could this be the mid-spec Ryzen 7000 CPU that brings the most value for money? Or will it fall behind the others?

These are AMD’s latest and greatest CPUs and it’s easy to see why when you read into them a little bit. They bring a plethora of features never before seen on the AMD platform, and processing power like you’ve never seen.


Zen 4 updates

31/08/22AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is 11% faster than the i9-12900K. AMD, during its “together we advance PCs” event claimed that the Ryzen 5 7600X is 11% faster in F1 2022 than the Core i9-12900K. Whilst reveling single-threaded performance in Geekbench for all four Zen 4 CPUs.

02/09/22 – Zen 4 CPU samples should be getting sent out any time now, we expect to receive ours shortly.

05/09/22The Ryzen 9 7950X reportedly reaches a massive score of 37425 in Cinebench R23 multi-threaded benchmarks. However, the Ryzen 9 7950X reaches 96°C with a 360mm all-in-one cooler in the process.

6/09/22The AMD Zen 4 review embargo is confirmed as the 26th of September 2022, meaning we should be getting review samples within the next week or so.

Ryzen 7 7700X release date

The release date for the Ryzen 7 7700X is the 27th of September 2022. As recently confirmed by AMD at their “Together we advance PCs” event on August 29th, 2022.

AMD is planning to release the 7700X along with the other three Ryzen 7000 series CPUs on September 27th, 2022. On the same day, Intel unveils its 13th gen “Raptor Lake” CPU generation. 

We don’t think this is a coincidence, as Intel beat AMD to the post last time CPUs were released. However, the latest rumors suggest that it could be due to a BIOS fault

AMD recently confirmed the prices of all the Zen 4 CPUs in its “together we advance PCs” event on August 29th, 2022.

Ryzen 7 7700X specs 

The Ryzen 7 7700X is an eight-core, 16-thread CPU capable of boosting core frequencies up to 5.4GHz. The base running frequency of the 7700X is 4.5GHz. 

Even the more budget options of Zen 4 CPUs boost to well over 5GHz. When even the top end of Zen 3 CPUs didn’t reach those speeds.

Unlike its Ryzen 9 brothers, the 7700X has a much lower TDP of 105W, despite having such high boost speeds. The cache size of the 7700X tops 40MB total, that’s 8MB more than the Ryzen 7 5800X of the previous generation.
