Many were shocked to see AMD’s RX 7900 XTX edge out Nvidia’s allegedly upcoming RTX 4070 Ti in a leaked benchmark on Twitter, but don’t get carried away with that notion.
Benchleaks provided the Geekbench score for the graphics card, and as with any pre-release leaks, we should be aware that it might not be accurate.

How the 4070 Ti compares to 7900 XTX
As we can observe, the RTX 4070 Ti succeeds in Geekbench 5’s OpenCL test with a score of 214,654. According to VideoCardz, that is 2% faster than AMD’s newest RDNA 3 flagship and 45% faster than its predecessor.
Saying that the RTX 4070 Ti surpasses AMD’s brand-new RX 7900 XTX is obviously incorrect. This proves that you shouldn’t place too much importance on a single benchmark result because Nvidia GPUs (and drivers) are just superior to AMD’s cards in this particular computing test.
Including 7,680 CUDA Cores, in particular, emphasises that this GPU should feature the entire loadout of cores for the AD104 chip. We also get a glimpse of the boost speed here. Other specifications are also revealed that are consistent with earlier leaks.
The latter is intriguing because it is reportedly tagged at 2,730MHz rather than 2,610MHz, which is different from the leaks we’ve already seen.
Given that the 4070 Ti is a lower-tier card in its new form, it would be quite strange if it were quicker. We fully anticipate that the 4070 Ti will have the same boost speed as the RTX 4080 12GB, which was discontinued.
The RTX 4070 Ti is leaking more and more, which further confirms that the CES launch rumours are accurate and that this GPU will be introduced by Nividia on shelves swiftly by January 5.
And regardless of the performance level, gamers will be more concerned with the price/performance ratio, which is the key indicator of whether the RTX 4070 Ti is a good bargain. Sadly, we don’t hold out much hope for a favourable outcome on that score, but you never know.
