GPU equivalent to the PS4 Pro
Although something like the GTX 1060 may be truly closer to the PS4 Pro’s performance, the RTX 3050 and the RX 6500 XT work well as more modern equivalents to the PS4 Pro. The RTX 3050 has 2560 shader units and is designed with an 8nm process size. Like the RX 6500 XT, it features a size of 6 nm, 4 GB of VRAM, and 1024 shader units.

The RX 6500 XT would certainly be better suited for 1080p than 1440p, whereas the RTX 3050 is a little more capable if you wish – we’d still recommend sticking to 1080p though. Both GPUs are from the latest generations of GPUs. Ampere in the case of the RTX 3000-XT as well as RDNA 2.0 on the 6500XT. This PS4 Pro GPU was manufactured in 2016 as a component of the GCN 2.0 architecture, so it was manufactured prior to the two GPUs by a significant amount. However, because of their nature, SoC (System on a Chip) GPUs are highly designed for the specific games that they’re playing.
PS4 Pro GPU equivalent performance
If you’re thinking of building a system with similar performance to the PS4 Pro, the RTX 3050 and the RX 6500 XT are the most suitable for this. In reality, it’s probable that they’ll perform better than the PS4 Pro. This is a console that was released several years before these GPUs.
The PS4 can play games at 1080p at 30 frames per second (while this isn’t completely accurate, it’s a good enough representation of its capabilities). In terms of a graphics card, it is said that the GTX 1050 Ti can play at 1080p at 30 FPS in a snap, or perhaps at a higher setting than the PS4. If you pair this with a 6-core Intel processor, the PC might be similar to the PS4 in terms of performance. However, due to the cost of motherboards that support 8th generation chips, it’s a good idea to use Ryzen 5 1600.
