Now that the Intel Arc Alchemist generation has had its time, we look forward to the Intel Battlemage release date, specs, and price. The Battlemage generation slots in just before we jump up to Celestial and Druid in the far future as Intel goes down the alphabet in its hopes of battling in the graphics department.
As Intel entered the market of the best GPUs, the market saw an increase in variety and some choice. The Intel Arc Alchemist range was trying to disturb the limited choice of graphics cards in the top end. So with that, the company is continuing its delve into the market, as we look into Intel Battlemage and all the information you might need.

Intel Arc Battlemage release date window
As the Arc series ages, Intel has said it will continue making this range of cards. With the whole alphabet to name their series’ after there are still a lot of ranges to pick from. Battlemage is going to be the second generation of new Intel graphics cards that have a lot to improve on.
There have been reports of the new-gen production as the Commercial Times in Taiwan leaks insider information on Intel’s proceedings. Offering up information that TSMC has booked in Intel’s new Battlemage on its 4nm node and even for Celestial. Which are said to launch in 2024 and 2026 respectively both in the second half of the year.
Intel has confirmed that Intel Battlemage is still coming and expects to show off the new generation before CES 2025 and it has even committed that Celestial is coming afterwards as well. This would put the Battlemage series on the same timeline as the RTX 50 series which also plans to come by then and we could expect RDNA 4 to also be in contention for a strong battle.
Intel Battlemage price speculation
As the third big name in the market, Intel aims for more of a good pricing strategy. As in the Intel Arc range, the top pick of the A770 launched with an MSRP of $329, but that price has been slashed since and sits closer to $300. But even so, with performance sitting in between the RX 6600 XT and RTX 3060 which cost $379 and $329 respectively, it gives a good choice and alternative.
So we expect the new Battlemage cards to follow a similar story. But we also expect an increase in the performance of the cards that could lead to an increased price. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if a higher-range card like a B990 came in the range of $500. Whilst a B770 still being in the range of $350, and the lowest cards like a B380 come in at $150.
Intel Battlemage specs – what we know so far
It is fairly early on to have any concrete specs on the Battlemage range, however, RedGamingTech might have an insight as to what to expect from the cards in general. The flagship card is in focus, with what is expected to be the BGM-G10, the next ACM-G10 GPU version.
There we see 64 Xe cores, double that of the A770 along with a restructure of how they work. This then comes with a 256-bit bus for at least GDDR6 memory. Along with a 48MB of L2 cache for support. Overall, the die is said to be of similar size to AD103 and will be built with TSMC’s 4nm process. We could also see big improvements in ray tracing and targeting a performance or even enthusiast gaming level.
Intel Battlemage expected performance
With such a long time before release, there is little to go off, especially with the potential improvements with generational upgrades but there are some expectations. The card is expected to exceed 3 GHz clock targets, although these work differently from the likes of Nvidia. This card is speculated to aim for the RTX 4070 Ti, which is quite a significant target but would put it in a good place. Maybe the 4070 is a more reasonable goal.
So, overall we expect the Battlemage performance to build upon what we saw from the Alchemist generation. Early rumors say that we may be seeing a performance increase of around 70%, but this doesn’t quite reach the top cards on the market right now. We may have to wait until the Celestial or Druid releases until we see Intel really start to challenge truly high-end graphics cards.
Intel Battlemage power usage
Raja Koduri, an executive for Intel graphics, has discussed the plans for power draw from the new Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs. Intel seems to be focusing on minimizing the power usage of the new GPUs as much as possible. They want to deliver fantastic performance per Watt and focus on ‘lower power’. This doesn’t mean compromising on the performance too much though, but they definitely look to be fitting in a place in the market that isn’t all about maximum power for a minimal amount of users.
There may be a change of pace following Koduri’s departure from Intel in early 2023. But from the graphics and roadmaps we’ve seen so far, we can see that Intel looks to be minimizing power draw without compromising on the performance too much with their Intel Battlemage generation of GPUs. The ‘G10’ being <225W and ‘G21’ drawing <150W.
Intel Battlemage FAQs
When will Intel Battlemage launch?
If the initial series wasn’t quite enough for you, or it has you excited for more, then the next generation might have something more for you. So from the Intel roadmap, we expect to see Intel Battlemage come in 2024, with Q2 as the earliest start to the generation but more realistically ahead of CES 2025.
Will Intel Battlemage have better driver support?
Intel has constantly been improving its driver support, and now Intel Arc Alchemist is doing much better. For the initial launch, it has been difficult but for Battlemage there should be much more to bank on from the work it has been putting into the current solution.
Will Intel Battlemage have high-end GPUs?
The previous generation Intel Alchemist GPUs mostly challenged the entry-level and mid-range GPUs. Now with Battlemage on the way, we expected to see Intel aim higher. There will definitely be a fairly significant jump in performance, with rumors of up to a 70% improvement.
Right now though, this step up doesn’t quite match current high-end GPUs. The Celestial and Druid generations are on the way further down the line though, so we expect to see more then.
What is Battlemage Intel?
Battlemage Intel is the 2nd generation of Intel GPUs. Following the first Alchemist generation, Battlemage is the improvement to it as Intel makes its way down the Alphabet in naming its graphics cards.
Intel Battlemage release date final word
Intel’s commitment to continuing in the sector is admirable and we look forward to the new GPU architecture from Team Blue. We should be seeing the new cards coming soon alongside what Nvidia and AMD both have coming.
