There appears to be a new Elden Ring datamine, which is teasing the upcoming campaign of the game. While there are no direct spoilers out there, the datamine infographic shows a collection of other fantasy and sci-fi games, perhaps giving us a taste of what to expect from the game.

Warning: potential spoilers ahead!

Elden Ring Datamine

If you’re interested in looking at an Elden Ring datamine, it is currently on Reddit. While almost every datamine is largely uncontestable as proof of game content, this one feels a little like a meme. There’s plenty of content showcasing imagery from several other games. SO far, it looks as you would expect, with forests, the dark grittiness, and really big plate armor typical of From Software titles.

But the 2nd half of the game looks interesting. The dataminer has shown pictures of Halo Infinite, the Death Star, Armored Core 4, and some other sci-fi themed content. It is bits like this that make the datamine feel a bit of a meme designed to troll Reddit, and us at WePC.

But what if it is true, and it is a teaser? Maybe the Halo Infinite reference is the open-world element. Maybe the Armored Core 4 mech reference is making the game feel somewhat like Final Fantasy, where there are elements of asci-fi, but still in a fantasy setting. Perhaps the broken space robot with the Death Star references the Elden Ring world breaking down? The final picture is standard sci-fi plate armor; maybe it’s a move from the gothic armor to something more enchanted and powerful?

Either way, people on Reddit and 4chan think that the game has a sci-fi twist, and it might very well do. George R.R Martin is behind the game’s lore, and there are many theories of his unfinished Song of Ice and Fire series has some sci-fi elements and prophecy theories. Think why there’s never any winters and one really long winter that last years. the GoT planet must have a terrible orbit. Tangent aside – there’s always a chance they could be embedding some of his theories into this game and seeing how it goes?

Lastly, it is worth mentioning that more Elden Ring datamines and leaks could be on the way. As first reported by Whatifgaming, it reported on the recent firmware breach on the PS4. It could mean that content is going to get mined from the recent CBT tests. This could be from this, or it could be from something else. Who knows? If you care about the lore of the game when its release date arrives, we recommend avoiding the Reddit for the foreseeable future now we know it’s no man’s land.
