All The Lenovo Legion Products At CES 2020

We are now at the halfway mark for CES and what an event it’s been so far! With so many amazing new product launches over the last three days you might think it was going to slow down. Nope, not one bit.

Lenovo has had a lot to show off at CES 2020 with the introduction of the first 5G laptop and the new X1 Fold Thinkpad. Legion is Lenovo’s gaming division looking to grab some of that ever-growing PC gaming market and they have announced several products that might interest you gamers out there.

So, on the back of our total overview of Lenovo at CES 2020, here are the gaming highlights that they brought to the show floor.

Lenovo Legion Y740S Gaming Laptop

The first on the list is the all-new Lenovo Legion Y740S laptop. This is going to be the thinnest and lightest laptop Lenovo have ever made, but with some highly impressive components under the hood. The laptop is meant to be paired with another new product from Lenovo, the eGPU, which we will cover more a little later on.

Lenovo Legion Y740S Gaming Laptop

This laptop is going to be equipped with the Intel i9H processor which is from Intel’s 10th Generation of CPUs. This CPU will be backed up with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and will come with multiple storage options. The storage will likely be a PCIe SSD of up to 1TB in size, for speedy boot times and improved gaming/workstation performance.

The Y740S will feature a 15.6″ 4K display that runs at a refresh rate of 60Hz and is certified from Dolby Vision. To cool this powerful machine we see Lenovo’s Coldfront 2.0 being implemented, which uses a vapor chamber and four fans.

Small extras include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, front-facing Dolby-Atmos speakers, and Thunderbolt 3 support.

Lenovo Legion BoostStaion eGPU

To work with the new Lenovo Legion Y740S Gaming Laptop, Lenovo are launching the eGPU which is an external graphics unit. This BoostStation will hold a full-sized GPU inside and will support both AMD and Nvidia. That being said, the card will have to be 12.6 x 5.9 x 2.4 inches at most. For those more inclined towards a Nvidia GPU, you will get to select from the respectable mid-range GPU, the GTX 1660 Ti or the newer RTX series. AMD GPU lovers will be limited with Lenovo only offering the RX 5700 XT, which isn’t bad seeing as that is AMD’s best card.

The whole point is to connect this device to the gaming laptop via the Thunderbolt connection and you have instant greater graphical performance for your games. Furthermore, the eGPU features external storage which can be either a 2.5 or 3.5 inch SSD/HDD or a pair of PCIe SSDs. The eGPU comes with a 500W PSU for power and features full I/o support towards the back.

Lenovo G-Monitor

Another product revealed was Lenovo’s new curved gaming monitor. The Lenovo G-monitor is a 34″ display and comes with a decent 100Hz refresh rate. A perfect display for gamers looking for something a little wider and robust. Along with the high refresh rates we see a 4MS response time and AMD’s Freesync technology for a smooth gaming experience.

Lenovo Legion Y25 Gaming Monitor

CES 2020 also see Lenovo show off their new esports monitor built for professionals. The Y25 gaming monitor will come with a 24.5″ IPS panel, with refresh rates of up to 240Hz. The monitors will come with advanced sync technology to keep the graphics smooth and stutter-free. This 1080p monitor features 400 nits’ brightness, HDR, and eye-car technology.

M600 Wireless Gaming Mouse

We got our hands on the M600 wireless gaming mouse at CES 2020 as well, and it was surprisingly light. The mouse is ambidextrous so regardless of what hand you use you can utilize this to full effect. The shape is very sleek and felt ergonomic in either hand and also features a spot of RGB. Despite being wireless, you get a whopping 200 hours of battery life in a single charge although I imagine you’ll have to turn the lighting off to get near this figure.

The mouse connects at 2.4GHz to the USB dongle and also features Bluetooth connectivity. The mouse can also be used wirelessly or wired with the Thunderbolt charging cable.
