With every season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone comes the midseason, as well. Halfway through the run, MW2 has a reloaded midseason update to keep content fresh.
Season 5 has brought plenty of rewards already, from new weapons to new game modes, but Activision isn’t stopping there. Reloaded will bring new DMZ, returning modes, and plenty more. In order to get a headstart on the new content coming, you’ll want to preload it onto your platform.

What is the preload time for MW2 Season 5 Reloaded?
The preload is now live for PlayStation, so you can download it now before Season Reloaded launches. Season 5 Reloaded is coming this August, so download it now to get ready. Like other seasons, unfortunately, PlayStation users are the only ones who can preload the update.
The official download size is an entire 53 GB on PlayStation, which although large, once it’s downloaded will actually reduce the size of your game in total. This should leave the time to download the preload at about an hour, although it varies greatly depending on your internet connection. Because of this large file size, preloading is an even better idea than it has been for previous seasons.
Preloading will allow you to have the content ready to go as soon as the new Reloaded starts on its release date, and you’ll be able to jump right into all the new content.
How to preload MW2 Season 5 Reloaded
Preloading Season 5 is very simple, and most of the time your platform will automatically preload the content itself. However, you can manually do it by:
- Navigating to MW2 or Warzone in your Library
- Check for Updates
- Confirm Download
This will let you download the content before the Season Reloaded begins, and get a jump start on all the new in-season content for the Battle Royale game.
There’s plenty to look forward to in Season 5 Reloaded, with a new Resurgence experience coming with Fort Resurgence being added. Armored Royale is also making its return, where squads will use their own MRAP. There will be new DMZ missions, including three more tiers of Shadow Company missions.
The new MW2 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded will also see Gunfight Snipers being added to Gunfight Variants as one of the new modes, where you’ll use sniper rifles to take on each other. A new multiplayer map with Zone 1 is coming, and three new operators including Mace and 21 Savage following up Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg‘s releases from the 50 Years of Hip Hop Celebration.

This is in addition to the multitude of content brought by Season 5, from the new operators like Graves, Mila, Oz, and Velikan, new maps like Lounge and Canal, and new game modes including Havoc and Big Capture the Flag.
