Pokimane JiDion row was not ‘banter’
It wasn't a joke, and nor was it coke - as Pokimane puts the case for the defence

Just when you thought it was safe to go back on Twitch without somebody accusing somebody of something else, Pokimane has extended her current feud with now-banned streamer JiDion after people accused her of not getting the joke.
For context, read here and here but the short version is, all the kids feel out with each other after JiDion sent some of his followers to Pokimane’s channel on a ‘Hate raid’, got banned, bleated about it, and then got some of his friends to stand up for him.
Pokimane then reacted heavily to a DM Ninja sent her (keep up) accusing him of threatening her, when most of the rest of the world thought he was explaining. Anyway, it all went away as these things tend to do, but now Pokimane has flared up again after some viewers thought the whole thing was merely JiDion was joking and didn’t really mean it – for what it’s worth, we don’t think he was joking, we think he was trying to be clever, but hey, what do we know?
Pokimaned said: “Does anyone else think that was a joke? He didn’t even say it in a joking way. And, also, I don’t know any of these dudes, we’re not on banter level. It’s very clearly not a joke. “It is so f**king annoying to have people say s**t, and then when it doesn’t work out for them, they resort to it was a joke. No, your s**t just didn’t land because it’s f**king weird. You meant it seriously and you thought people would like that you’re saying it seriously. But, it was weird.”

Did Pokimane do coke on stream?
A clip has resurfaced in the wake of all these shenanigans showing Pokimane chopping up a white powder before leaning in to snort lines of it. This seems to be an edited version of Pokimane opening up Japanese loot boxes some time ago, commenting the white powder (sugar apparently) looked like cocaine and then feigned snorting it.
The clip is old Pokimane and certainly not from the more recent brand-aware version of the streamer we get these days. Still seems like a stupid thing to do, although she has pointed out she was just a minor at the time, especially as this hacked-down version has now had hundreds of thousands of views and will be considered damaging to her reputation, even though it is taken out of context.
Pokimane is not the first person to be caught out online by their historic actions when they were younger, and it’s unlikely she will be the last
