Sony Inzone is a new lineup of gaming peripherals that has the chance to properly shake up the industry. If they get it right, that is.

Previously, Sony has largely stuck to console gaming, with the venerable PlayStation brand holding strong for over 25 years since the release of the original back in 1994. Since then they’ve fought punch for punch with the Microsoft Xbox brand. However, now it appears that they’re trying something new: Gaming monitors and gaming headsets.

Sony Inzone range of gaming peripherals announcement: Everything we know so far.

Earlier today Sony officially announced the new Inzone sub-brand via an announcement video that was posted to YouTube, this featured the regular “techy looking dude walking around on stage talking” schtick that we’ve become very familiar with over the last decade. However, the announcement was not without some pretty cool stuff. Let’s have a look at exactly what the Sony Inzone gaming monitors and headsets are going to be bringing to the table.

Sony Inzone M3 & M9 gaming monitor specs & Price

the Inzone M3 & M9 have caused quite a stir on Twitter, Reddit, and other similar rumor breeding grounds too. This is not without good reason though, as they both boast some impressive specs that we’ve arranged for you below.

Sony Inzone M3 specs

  • 27-inch screen size
  • 1080p resolution
  • 240Hz refresh rate
  • IPS panel
  • 1ms GtG response time
  • G-Sync compatibility
  • DisplayHDR 400 certification
  • VRR
  • 99% sRGB spectrum coverage

The M3 has been priced at $529, which strikes us pretty pricy for the specs that it offers. However, perhaps the PS5-specific settings will make this worthwhile for the console gamer.

Sony Inzone M9 specs

  • 27-inch screen size
  • 4k resolution
  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • IPS panel
  • 1ms GtG response time
  • G-Sync compatibility
  • DisplayHDR 600 certification
  • VRR
  • 99% sRGB spectrum coverage

From these specs, we can see that the monitors differ only in a few areas, and the only areas of note are the refresh rate and the resolution. Of course, these two factors have a huge influence on the end price. However, the M9 still retains a reasonable price of $899, which is impressive given Sony’s predisposition to over-pricing.

Sony Inzone H9, H7, and H3 specs

The Sony Inzone line of headsets are all specced with clever intervals, meaning that you can price yourself to the features you need. The shared specs are as follows

  • 40mm driver diameter
  • Closed-back design
  • 5-20,000Hz frequency response[
  • Flip-to-mute, voice-focused mic

Unfortunately, headset specs aren’t quite as easy to rattle off as gaming monitor specs as the overall experience is more than some of its parts. However, the Higher-end models, the H7 and H9 are looking to be pretty impressive bits of gaming tech, especially if you have a PS5.
