For those that may have missed the recent Google I/O event, large parts of the presentation went on to talk about what was in store for both Google Bard and the integration of Duet AI with Google Workspace and Google Cloud. This isn’t quite the same as the likes of ChatGPT, in essence Duet AI will work with the likes of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Slides, Gmail, you name it. It is essentially Google’s very own Microsoft 355 Copilot and it looks very impressive. Duet AI has no concrete release date, however, it is speculated to arrive toward the end of the year.
Duet AI for Google Workspace
One of the most exciting aspects of Duet AI is its planned integration with Google Workspace. To put it simply, Duet AI is going to have the ability to enhance your efficiency across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet. Generative AI features go beyond what you may think in this regard, meaning Duet AI with Workspace could be game-changing for personal and business use.
The new tool will enable you to refine existing work or plan out future projects, much like other AI generation tool work. the difference here is that the AI will get you started in the likes of Docs or Gmail, writing out whatever you need via the correct prompts. This in effect will enable you to draft up emails on the go via mobile or write out a quick proposal, without the need for your office PC or a moment to think.
Workflow in general is going to be highly optimized and improved, with prompts being the main focus. A quick prompt will be able to assist you in any task while writing in docs. Duet AI can also help with many other variables that would otherwise have to google to find out.
You will be able to create original images from text inside Google Slides, while also building out the perfect presentation. That’s right, you will be able to create the perfect slide show in seconds when using text prompts. Furthermore, AI-generated images can also be used here, which could be interesting for those pitching marketing ideas or just looking to spruce up the boring slide.
Duet AI will be a great tool when analyzing data. Duet AI will be able to interact with your Google Sheets, with the ability to classify data, organize the sheet, and any other burden you can think of with data entry.

On June 8th 2023 Google announced that Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise was up for pre-order. As mentioned above Google showed off some of the capabilities of Duet AI within Google Workspace at 2023’s Google I/O presentation and now business customers can get their pre-orders in for the software.

Duet AI for Google Cloud
Duet AI is coming to Google Cloud developers, with the main goal to create a more helpful platform, no matter if it’s code assistance or help navigating the cloud. Google’s new generative AI will help make Google Cloud more accessible, giving those no matter the skill level support in their tasks. As mentioned code recommendations, data analysis, and chat-based app creation will all be “human-centric”.
This holistic approach from Google really is going to revolutionize the whole platform, helping to deliver smarter recommendations when building or operating with apps under the cloud.
