What is Microsoft Security Copilot? – how can it help?
Copilot in its essence helps simplify focus. The prompt bar allows you to ask a question such as “what are all the incidents in my enterprise”, where a detailed response will be generated.
You can also ask for a summary of vulnerabilities or feed in files, URLs, code snippets, and ask for information around those. You can use the prompt bar to ask for info on incidents and alerts from other security tools too.
What you input stays within your own control and all the prompts and responses are saved to help with future issues.
Security Copilot will generate a response to your prompt using what it finds externally and internally in your organization.
You can edit the initial prompt to correct an incorrect response, or just to get a different one. You can pin these interactions to the pinboard, making anything flagged really simple for the team to find.
The pinboard holds all your responses as you work through an investigation, dynamically updating. You get to share all your findings with others in real-time in one centralized place.
Prompt book
You can ask Security Copilot to reverse a script and then save the prompt to the “prompt book”, meaning your team can also use the relevant responses from Copilot to assist in their investigations.
Microsoft Security Copilot limitations
Just like other AI-generated content, Security Copilot responses can sometimes be incorrect/ inaccurate, so Copilot has a feedback feature so developers can make copilot better.
