X rocker has been a well-known name in the world of gaming chairs for a long time now. It continues to be the adolescent fever dream of teenagers worldwide as they tirelessly search for more exotic ways to waste their parent’s money.

That might have sounded needlessly harsh, but to be fair to X rocker, the chairs on offer cover a far higher number of categories than other brands like noblechairs and Secretlab.

Additionally, X Rocker has increased its range of products over the last few years to include gaming desks, gaming beds, and other gaming-focused furniture. From this, we can see the oncoming onslaught of gamification of household items and other such homewares, but we digress. We are here to cover the best X Rocker gaming chairs available, so let’s take a closer look at what X Rocker has to offer and see just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Pros
  • Pedestal elevation makes this chair slightly more comfortable for taller people
  • Wireless audio setup allows immersive audio from your chair without needing to run wires
  • Offers a fairly comfortable seating experience, including tilt and swivel on its pedestal
  • Great weight capacity
  • Two color options to choose from- the default black and a platinum color option
Cons
  • Not cheap for a rocker chair
  • Pedestal may wear down over time, making this a normal floor-based console gaming chair

The X Rocker 51386 is a top pick for many gaming chair enthusiasts, thanks to its rich feature set and comfort.

First and foremost, let’s talk about what sets it apart from most: the pedestal. Larger or taller gamers may not like getting into chairs that are basically right on the floor, and the pedestal design makes this chair much more comfortable to ease into for most people.

Additionally, it stops people from needing to have their feet directly on the floor and bending their knees, which can be uncomfortable for some.

The second thing that sets it apart is that it supports wireless audio. This wireless audio is compatible with all current-gen consoles, and for older devices, it also has all the hardwiring you need to ensure your chair is compatible.

Thanks to the added convenience and comfort features, this X Rocker Pedestal Chair is one of our top picks for the best console gaming chair.

However, it does come with one very key downside: the price.

At a whopping $150 (or more, depending on the price fluctuations when you read this), it’s definitely one of the most expensive options out there.

If you can afford the price, though, this is one of the best options you can go for.

Pros
  • High levels of comfort and quality materials
  • Wireless audio allows immersive in-game audio without running a bunch of cables
  • Great weight capacity for a console gaming chair
Cons
  • Fairly high price

The X Rocker Gaming Chair typically retails in the $150-$200 range and offers a pretty solid console gaming chair experience while doing so.

At first glance, this may look like any other gaming chair you’ve used. Where it starts to set itself apart, however, is with wireless gaming audio capabilities, allowing you to quickly and easily set up your audio with any modern gaming console.

In addition to wireless audio, it offers wired compatibility, too, just in case your sound setup or last-gen consoles aren’t compatible with its wireless audio technologies.

Judging from most of the reviews, the chair seems to offer a high level of comfort and is built with quality materials. A complaint among wider gamers is the armrests, but those can be pretty easily removed if need be.

For a fair, solid console gaming chair experience, this X Rocker Gaming Chair is one of our top picks. It is overshadowed, however, by its bigger brother.

Pros
  • Relaxing
  • Built-in speakers
  • Great for console gaming
  • Immersive
Cons
  • Needs an extra cable for Xbox compatibility
  • Not really suited to PC gaming

X Rockers are well known in the Xbox and Playstation sphere and offer great comfort with built-in speakers and controls making them a very attractive option for more than just gaming.

This leather lounging chair rocks on its frame and is great for gaming, watching TV, reading, or even just chilling. The plush leather and inviting shape are very comfortable, making this great for long game sessions or films. The headrest protrudes from the backrest giving you some built-in neck support and the ergonomic shape makes this comfy for many different body types.

This may be rather plain in design but I think the understated look is always smart when working with leather. The chair provides a great immersive alternative to TV audio playback, with two speakers in the headrest and a 4” subwoofer pounding your back.

While they say this is compatible with most consoles you may need to grab an HDMI audio extractor v1.4 to use this with your Xbox  It works fine with the PS4 and older consoles though and when sat at such a low price, this is a small compromise.

Things to consider

It’s important to realize here that you are going to be buying a piece of furniture that will hopefully last you many years, and, more importantly, provide you with a level of comfort while you are sitting at your PC, console, or other such gaming device that you might not have previously had. Therefore, before you make your final purchase, spare a thought for the following.

Price

The cost of gaming chairs can vary quite dramatically. the big-name companies are all going to be charging considerably more for their wares but there is a reason for that. generally, the materials used are of much higher quality, this is how the cheaper manufacturers can trim down their prices so much. With this trimming down also comes a reduction in comfort. Extra support cushions aren’t included, the foam used in the seat and back sections won’t be as high quality and may lose its shape quicker than you would like. The seat itself might not recline or even feel as sturdy.

What we are saying, is that generally, the price point will scale with the features and capability of the chair, however, as with most gaming accessories, there is a point after which you’ll be at the mercy of diminishing returns, so don’t pay too much. If you really want all the features, you can pay with Klarna, allowing you to spread to total cost over a longer period with monthly payments instead.

Ergonomics

This is the big one, if you’re familiar with any of our other gaming chair pages, you’ll know how keen we are on well-designed and ergonomically excellent gaming chairs. There are a few key things that we look for when assessing the comfort and ergonomic viability of a chair: lumbar support, neck support, and copious amounts of adjustability.

Lumbar support

Lumbar support is the linchpin of any decently ergonomic chair, it helps coax your spine into the ideal natural S-shaped curve which allows for more comfortable playing positions and helps to prevent bad posture during the longest gaming sessions and the resultant health issues that can arise. When it comes to gaming chairs, lumbar support usually takes the form of either a cushion or a built-in adjustable mechanism like what we saw in the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 series gaming chair. If you’re considering the ergonomic design of the X Rocker gaming chair in question, lumbar support is where you’ll want to start, long before you make your final purchase.

Adjustability

It may seem obvious, but there continue to be chairs that do not allow for sufficient levels of customization. What we’re looking for here is adjustable height, armrests, and backrest angle. Being able to adjust the chair to your specific needs and preferences is important not only for ergonomics but for overall gaming enjoyment too. A versatile chair will allow for use in many scenarios, not just in gaming.

Audio

This doesn’t normally make its way into the ‘what to consider’ section, but when it comes to X Rocker chairs, the script changes as these guys absolutely love integrating audio solutions into their chairs. There are typically a few different ways they construct the audio system and it varies from chair to chair. They usually make use of Bluetooth for controlling the music, which is ideal as it allows you to switch from headphones to built-in speakers with considerable ease, regardless of what audio device you’re using. Additionally, if you have a smart device you can use that as well which further increases the versatile design of the X Rocker chair in question.

X Rocker chairs usually utilize a dual audio system for their chairs. This produces high-quality audio in stereo from the seat itself, which increases overall immersion, the audio quality is very good, but don’t be fooled into thinking that you’re getting crystal clear audio like a pair of good speakers. This means that you should still use your normal speakers in combination with the chair, instead of committing only to the built-in audio system of the chair. Some X Rocker chairs even have a backrest subwoofer that helps support the main speakers for a more comprehensive audio experience.

Style

The last couple of years has definitely seen a move away from the huge gamification of gaming chairs. No longer are we only different bright green chairs with orange lightning bolts emblazoned across them but you can now get high-quality gaming chairs that do not look out of place in any corner of your home. You need to decide whether you want one that’s more akin to a big padded ‘bosses’ office chair or stick with the racing style so popular in years gone by. It’s also worth considering you may redecorate before your chair reaches the end of its life so that the bright yellow racing chair may not fit in so well in the future.

Weight Limit

The weight limit on most of these gaming chairs is less of a concern than on a traditional office or computer chair. That’s because these chairs are already based on the floor, and therefore aren’t likely to collapse if they have a sturdy frame.

The only real exceptions to these rules are the Intex Inflatable Chair and the X Rocker Pedestal Chair. The Inflatable Chair is much more strict about its weight limit since it risks popping if you go over it, while the Pedestal in the other chair may give away if you stress it too much for too long.

Besides those chairs, though, you’re probably just fine being 350+ lbs and using these chairs on the floor. They should be reasonably comfortable, too, but you can also check the measurements on them if you’re particularly wide.

Size

you might have noticed that a lot of X Rocker chairs have a particularly large footprint. This means that they take up a lot of space in your dorm room, gaming space, or other preferred gaming location. This is due to the integrated speakers, five-star swivel base, and sturdy casters that all combine to take up some considerable space, so grab a tape measure and make sure it will fit, with room to spare.

Final Word

As I alluded to at the beginning of this article I have a bit of a soft spot for X Rocker chairs, but I have to concede defeat when it comes to recommending them for out and out PC gaming. They just don’t lend themselves to keyboard and mouse positioning, and in the main, you are going to end up hurting yourself if you persevere i the long run. Where they excel however is for gaming on consoles or watching movies in your room. They are wonderfully comfortable, often come with speakers built-in and they just feel like a tank in terms of construction. They really are heavy, be warned.

If there’s a place for an X Rocker in your life, any of the models here will do you round. Just don’t expect it to suit all occasions. They aren’t really adjustable in any meaningful way so you really need to consider whether they are suitable for your needs.
