Secretlab is already one of the go-to brands when you want to make sure you are getting the best value for money from your gaming chair investment. With a range that covers the more sedate, to officially licensed, branded chairs like this one they have you covered. If you are a big Game of Thrones fan, you can not only pick up this white House Stark model but seats bedecked in the crests of the other houses in the hit TV show/books as well.
This chair comes with pretty much as many customizable options as the rest. You can choose your upholstery from the company’s own Prime 2.0 leather, to fabric to premium Napa leather. It all affects the costs but this is a premium seat with premium options to boot.
Secretlab had such a stellar 2020 they are fighting to keep up with demand so you may see a pre-order time as they work hard to get back on top of orders, but the reason they get such a lot of orders to backfill is that they are so desirable. Don’t be put off by a wait time. This is a chair you will have for many years to come in the future.

There never used to really be a choice. Gaming chairs were all in this racing style. Then we had the X-rocker type seat before companies such as Secretlab came along and styled things in a slightly different way. Racing style chairs are still extremely popular, however, especially with streamers and the like, and we have to admit, this white offering from Vertagear really catches the eye. Yes, the design is out and out racing but if you like that then the colors blend beautifully.
We particularly like the way the lumbar support and the head pillow are designed to blend in sumptuously with the overall design of the chair. It just looks really good.
It’s also really easy to construct as well, literally just sliding together, so you won’t need to muster a second pair of hands to complete any tricky bits. It has a maximum weight recommendation of 150llbs so if you are on the larger side then a racing-style chair may not be for you. Otherwise, if you are looking for a nice white chair with a splash of extra color in your set-up, as well as one that oozes class and a hint of speed, look no further.
Starspace Flip-Up Arms Gaming Chair (White)
Material
PU Leather
Dimensions
27.5″ x 26.5″x 41.7″- 44.9″ inches
Maximum weight
250 Pounds
- Easy to assemble
- Decent quality material
- Flip up arms
- Long -term durability questionable
- Could mark quite easily
- Tiny instructions
Budget chairs usually take a hit in design quality as well as materials. This offering from Starspace doesn’t hurt the bank balance greatly, is covered in a decent quality artificial leather and the cushion is firm and durable. The flip-up arms are a nice touch, enable easier storage in tight places. Assembly is quick and simple, you should be able to throw this together in about 10 minutes, which is different from many others out there.
The key to a good gaming chair though is comfort and this is where many budget chairs fall down. They might look the part, but park your backside on them for long periods of time and you soon realize where that other couple of hundred dollars would have gone had you saved up. This isn’t half bad though, much better than many budget chairs we have tried.
It’s a third of the price of the high-end offerings and while we would never suggest scrimping if you can afford a Secretlab if funds are tight and you want to up your seating arrangement, we doubt you would be too disappointed with this one.

It’s interesting to see that some of the manufacturers we would associate more with peripherals such as Razer and Corsair are beginning to dip more than a toe into the lucrative gaming chair market. Some gamers are naturally going to gravitate towards these brands so it would seem to be a shrewd move. Thankfully with chairs such as the T3 Rush, Corsair is showing it is up for making a quality product. In fact, while we wouldn’t recommend it over the Secretlab, if money is a bit tighter you certainly couldn’t go far wrong with this if you aren’t bothered about plumping for a racing-style gaming chair.
If you are hell-bent on a completely white chair then this wouldn’t be for you with the white only present in the accents but we would always urge caution with white furniture anyway. It all looks so lovely out of the box but when you think of the practicalities of keeping it looking pristine, you might find you are better off tweaking your opinion.
As a chair, it is comfortable and well made, looks nice, and has Corsair branding tastefully placed behind your brain. It doesn’t look garish, it looks quality and it is. Well worth a look.
Things to consider
It’s important to realize here that you are going to be buying a piece of furniture that will hopefully last you many years, and, more importantly, provide you with a level of comfort while you are sat at your PC, that you might not have previously had. Therefore, before you click Buy, spare a thought for the following.
Price
The cost of gaming chairs can vary quite dramatically. the big-name companies are all going to be charging considerably more for their wares but there is a reason for that. generally, the materials used are of much higher quality, this is how the cheaper manufacturers can trim down their price so much. With this trimming down also comes a reduction in comfort. Extra support cushions aren’t included, the foam used in the seat and back sections won’t be as high quality and may lose its shape quicker than you would like. The seat itself might not recline or even feel as sturdy.
What we are saying, and we certainly don’t always suggest you go for the higher ticket items, but when it comes to gaming chairs you generally get what you pay for. It all depends on how happy you are to compromise, we’ve included a budget gaming chair in white here too.
Style
The last couple of years have definitely seen a move away from the huge gamification of gaming chairs. No longer are we only different bright green chairs with orange lightning bolts emblazoned across them but you can now get high-quality gaming chairs that do not look out of place in any corner of your home. You need to decide whether you want one that’s more akin to a big padded ‘bosses’ office chair or stick with the racing-style so popular in years gone by. It’s also worth considering you may redecorate before your chair reaches the end of its life so that bright yellow racing chair may not be a great fit for your game room. In essence, a minimalist white gaming chair, or even black or grey, will have the highest probability of remaining a great fit in your game room as neutral colors can fit in far more easily than aggressive color mixes.
Ergonomics
Of course, you’re going to be spending a lot of hours in your new white gaming chair, as with any gaming chair you need to ensure that it’s ergonomically sound. This is especially important as 7.5% of the global population regularly suffer from back pain. Luckily for you, the best white gaming chairs have a few different features of ergonomic design that help you maintain a healthy posture, including adjustable armrests, lumbar support pillows, and high-density foam.
Strain
You’re probably already aware of muscle strain, a pain that comes as the result of overexertion and bad posture. When picking the best white gaming chair you should be paying attention to features that will help reduce strain and provide lasting benefits, allowing you to game for longer periods with less strain and pain. The following paragraphs detail some strain removing ergonomic features.
Adjustable armrests
These are important as they help keep your shoulders at a relaxed, healthy height. You might be familiar with the somewhat cryptic marketing term ‘4D armrests’, but what are 4D armrests? Essentially, it means fully adjustable in 4 dimensions. this means it’s adjustable back/forwards, up/down, side-to-side, and rotationally. Height adjustability is important, however, the other axis’ of adjustment are superficial, but it’s always nice to have more customization. However, all this is for naught if you don’t sit correctly.
- While sitting about arm’s length from the monitor, you are going to want to adjust it so that the top of the monitor sits level with your eyes.
- Sit up straight, with your back pressed firmly against the backrest and your neck in a relaxed, neutral position.
- Recline your chair slightly so it sits at around 100-110 degrees, but make sure your back and neck are still making contact with the chair.
- Sit with your thighs horizontal so that your knees bend at a 90-degree angle.
- Sit with both feet planted on the floor flat, avoiding crossing your legs to ensure that blood circulation flows properly. If you still struggle to do this with the chair as close to the floor as possible, consider a footrest.
Lumbar support pillows
One of the better changes made to the gaming chair market in recent years is the increasingly common inclusion of lumbar support pillows. These are important as they help guide your spine back to its natural curve. Some chairs like the Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 even have the pillow built-in and adjustable in height and protrusion via two knobs on the sides. You can read more about this novel feature in our full Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 Series review.
Build quality
As with many products in the PC gaming market, the gaming chair space is fraught with low-quality products made with substandard materials. there are a few aspects of the construction you should consider when picking a new white gaming chair. The main ones are steel frame, longevity, and the tilt mechanism.
Steel frame
This is particularly important as a gaming chair will be subject to extended periods of abuse, daily usage, and repeated adjustments and movement. A steel frame, as opposed to a low-quality aluminum alloy, allows the chair to retain structural integrity for years to come. This may seem obvious, but there’s a lot of snake oil out there so you would do well to research. However, dear reader, we are honest people here at WePC so we won’t feature any of that on this page.
Longevity
It’s easy to forget that a gaming chair is a piece of furniture, you might expect to replace a mouse or a keyboard after a year or two, but furniture should be enduring. the main things to look for to ensure longevity is the quality of the upholstery, the frame, and the castors. upholstery, particularly faux leather can sometimes be very easy to inadvertently tear, frames, as mentioned earlier, can be made of brittle alloys instead of quality steel, and castors can wear away very quickly if not made of solid plastic or metal.
Tilt mechanism
One of the features most enjoyed by gamers is the tilting locking mechanism that should be standard on all gaming chairs, it allows you to tilt the entire seat to an angle and lock it, this is not to be confused with reclining, wherein the back of the seat tilts separately from the base. Anyone who’s used a good tilting mechanism knows the benefits that come from being able to rock back for a quick bit of relaxation between matches. Ideally, tilting mechanisms should have a good range of tilt, and have several different steps in locking. We’ve made sure the chairs on this page have these qualities.
How to clean white gaming chairs
As briefly mentioned earlier, you have to be an intrepid risk-taker to buy a white gaming chair. dirt, stains, and discoloration are all far more prevalent in white gaming chairs and can easily ruin the intended clean aesthetic. So you’ve got to keep it tidy. Let’s have a look at the best way to clean a white gaming chair. The process differs marginally depending on your choice of upholstery, of course, faux leather will be easier to keep tidy, whereas baric is a little more labor-intensive.
How to clean a PU leather white gaming chair
Typically, a standard cloth and spray will work fine, but the important thing about white gaming chairs is to clean them fast after a spill. otherwise usually easy to remove stains can linger and become far more permanent. Additionally, giving the chair a regular 30-second wipe down regardless of whether it’s dirty will help it retain its bright coloring. Remember to remove any lumbar support pillows and neck cushions first as these are probably not made of PU leather and will only suck up the cleaning liquid. these should be cleaned with the same method as fabric chairs. Speaking of which:
How to clean a white fabric gaming chair
So you’ve elected not only to pick a white gaming chair but a fabric one at that? Someone likes living life on the edge. Brave choices indeed. Wiping as we described above should be done very sparingly as the high-density foam on most gaming chairs these days is a nightmare to dry out. A hoover and brush combo is the best way to go here. As with other upholstery alternatives, doing this frequently will help to keep the chair pristine.
Final Word
It gets a bit repetitive constantly saying you should save up and purchase a chair from Secretlab, but in truth, having used them in the office for years, we find it difficult to genuinely recommend another brand. There are some other good options here if you absolutely can’t stretch to the top model – the Corsair is very nice as is the Vertagear – and if funds are so tight but you simply have to upgrade your current chair, there is a decent budget offering from Starspace too, but in terms of what you get for your money, We can’t, in all consciousness, deviate from Secretlab.
We did like the flip-up arm option on the Starspace chair though. we’ve had that problem where my desk in my home office was lower than the chair arms, and having to fiddle with them every time to push it under is a massive pain. Nice touch. Well done.
In this time of being stuck at home though working and playing, we all need to treat our backs to an upgrade or we will regret it in the long run.
