Comparing the two options, we see the base differences between the two GPUs. Still, in the same architecture and processor, there isn’t a lot of change between them in terms of base setup. It doesn’t even change the amount of streaming processors available to either. Sticking to 2,048 there isn’t going to be much change in its computational power.

Where the 7600 XT does improve slightly is the boost clock of the card, a slight overclock form of the 7600 can boost up to 100MHz higher, and 220MHz higher game clock. Custom AIBs may change that even further if they choose to but it is a core difference.

The only other real change in the spec is the memory capacity. The VRAM increases from 8 to 16GB of GDDR6. Allowing the XT to reach bigger potential to get through those better textures and higher resolutions. However, the bus and clock do not change, limiting the bandwidth to 288GB/s. That can still limit its potential and not make a great impact on the differences between them. Even still, the TGP and power increase by 25W, meaning it runs hotter and requires more power to work which might make it less appealing.

How much better is the RX 7600 XT than the 7600?

AMD has given us a look at the expectation of how the RX 7600 XT vs 7600 compare on performance. It may not be a direct or a nonbiased look but is the best pick while we wait for independent benchmarks to come out.

Here we see the RX 7600 XT improve significantly in certain situations, mostly when it comes to ray tracing and higher resolutions, which is what the extra VRAM allows it to do. At 1080p benchmarks the 7600 XT is better by a range of 6-40% than the RX 7600. Whilst at 1440p that varies between 12-45%.

How much more expensive is the 7600 XT than 7600?

This is another area where the 7600 XT vs 7600 differ. With a higher tier of card, it does increase the retail price of the graphics card and so it changes the worth and value depending on how much better it actually is. But the RX 7600 XT has a launch price of $329, compared to the RX 7600 $269. That means the XT is 22% more expensive than the 7600.

Is the 7600 XT worth it over the 7600?

In general, the RX 7600 XT doesn’t add too much over the 7600, although increases the VRAM capacity by double the bandwidth hasn’t changed. As such the performance increases aren’t going to be that big in pure rasterization so with the price increase that comes with it, it’s certainly a hard choice to go for. It’s certainly similar to the RTX 4060 Ti 8 vs 16GB and that was an interesting selection. For the lower end, they do provide a good value and if they achieve your specifications it is an alright choice for 1080p certainly.
