Samsung Galaxy S22 deals
The release of a new generation of smartphone is the perfect time to pick up great deals on the previous gen models. Samsung has sworn to provide 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches to any of their S-class smartphones after the release date, so they’re still well worth buying.
You can already pick up great savings on the various Galaxy S22 variants from the Samsung Store and Amazon (Amazon is good if you’re looking for a cheaper refurbished option). Buying from the Samsung Store has the added benefit of allowing additional savings through trading in your old smartphone/tablet/smartwatch when you buy, regardless of the brand/model (though some will give bigger discounts than others, and the condition of the device is a factor).

What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S23
It seems the standard variant of the Samsung Galaxy S23 isn’t going to vary much from the S22 in most of its features. It looks like the cameras are going to be very similar, possibly the same in terms of lenses and sensors, though more advanced image processing may still mean some improvements to image quality.
The display is likely to have the same 6.1-inch 1080×2340 (442ppi) specs with the same 48-120Hz variable refresh rate. It’s possible that it will have the low refresh rate, battery-saving mode that the S22 Ultra came with (dropping down to 1Hz to conserve power) but recent leaks have thrown cold water onto this.
The main difference seems to be that it will have the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, as opposed to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of the S22. This new CPU will apparently give a 35% performance boost, as well as a 40% increase to efficiency.
This should mean that even though the battery size is only marginally increasing from 3,700 mAh to 3,900 mAh, the battery duration should go further.
What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S23+
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ will be pretty much the same as the S23 above, except once again coming with a larger 6.6-inch screen size.
What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the SKU from the series which will have the most changes over the previous generation. It looks like there will no longer be a 128GB storage option for the Ultra model, with the entry-level model coming with a 256GB SSD. The display will apparently be aiming for the crown of the brightest on the market, at 2,150 nits and will come with an LPTO display, which can once again vary between 1-120Hz.
