The short answer is no, Samsung S95C is not 8K. We’ll take you through exactly what that means for this TV.

It has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, which is 4K. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth considering. In fact, there are plenty of reasons why the Samsung S95C OLED TV is amazing despite not being 8K.

What is 8K?

First of all, let’s make sure you understand what 8K is and what it offers. 8K resolution is a whopping 7680×4320 pixels, a whole four times the resolution of 4K. This means that an 8K TV can display incredibly detailed images with almost no visible pixels, even when viewed up close. However, there are a few catches.

The downsides of 8K

One of the biggest downsides of 8K is that there is very little content available that is actually in 8K. While some streaming services and YouTube do offer 8K content, it is still very limited. Even if you have an 8K TV, you won’t be able to take full advantage of its capabilities unless you’re watching 8K content. Additionally, because the pixel density is so high, some viewers may not be able to discern the difference between 8K and 4K unless they’re sitting very close to the display.

Another minus of 8K is that it requires a lot of processing power to display properly. Due to that, 8K televisions and monitors are currently quite expensive (going deep into thousands of dollars). 8K is the future and will be worldwide adopted in time, by all means, but now 4Ks have the upper hand with all features they provide.

Samsung S95C: Not 8K but does it matter?

So, where does the Samsung S95C fit into all of this? Well, while it may not be 8K, it does have a lot to offer. Its 4K OLED panel offers rich colors and deep blacks, and its 144Hz refresh rate makes it a powerful gaming machine. With all of that, not having 8K shouldn’t even be a worry.

In the end, for those who still crave an 8K display, the Samsung S95C may not be the right choice – but for those who are happy with the myriad of perks and features it has, it will make for a long-lasting, happy relationship.
