Being one of the biggest monitor manufacturers in the game, it’s no surprise that they set the bar very high.
So, it’ll be an interesting match-up today, as we compare the ROG Swift PG27AQDM vs ASUS PG32UQX.
Two highly regarded gaming monitors that feature very different specs. One utilizes OLED panel technology while the other makes us of Mini-LED. One has a 240Hz refresh rate and 1440p resolution while the other offers 4K and 144Hz.

The ROG Swift PG27AQDM is a display many can’t wait to purchase – it’s a 27-inch premium gaming monitor that proudly boasts an OLED display with a 2K resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. This screen is made to satisfy the highest demands, and it shows with its ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate and a lightning-quick 0.03 ms response time. You read that correctly – you might actually get motion sickness from how smooth the visuals are.
Meanwhile, the PG32UQX is a 32-inch monitor with a 4K resolution, a nice 144Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync Ultimate technology. And if you’re wondering what the difference is between G-Sync and G-Sync Ultimate, well, G-Sync Ultimate is like the big brother of G-Sync. It has HDR capabilities and a wider color gamut, making it the best of the best.
The PG32UQX is not an OLED though – it has a Mini-LED panel with 1152 independent LED zones that emphasize the ‘bright’ in “brightness” to the true extent of the word. It’s the world’s first Mini-LED monitor, and it turned the tide a bit against its unforgivable OLED competition. In performance, if not in the price.
Now, when it comes to performance, both monitors are, expectedly, the cream of the crop.
The ROG Swift PG27AQDM has a prompt response time of 0.03 ms, which means you won’t experience any noticeable delays or ghosting.
Meanwhile, the PG32UQX has a slightly slower response time of 4ms, but it compensates for that with its larger size and incredible Display HDR1400 certification. If you value HDR gaming, that’s your wildest dream come true.
The ROG Swift PG27AQDM is predicted to come at the cost of around $1,200, which is pretty steep, but it’s not even the most expensive OLED monitor on the market.
However, the PG32UQX takes the crown with a jaw-dropping price of $2799 (and that’s discounted on Amazon – the real current price is $2999). Almost three thousand dollars! It really isn’t easy to justify that kind of purchase. That’s the price of a whole advanced gaming setup!
For all its qualities, the king’s ransom price of the PG32UQX is too much for our taste. Wait a few weeks for the ROG Swift PG27AQDM – at 2,5 times lower price, it will make all your dreams come true without demolishing your savings.
