Memory bus256-bit192-bit
Memory clock22Gbps21Gbps
TGP285W220W

Going to the basics, we can compare how the 4070 Ti Super vs 4070 Super specs differ. The 4070 Ti Super specs do improve upon what’s on offer. Although they may both be the 70 class, the Ti Super does actually upgrade the GPU supposedly. Going up a class to what the 80 has with an AD103 processor compared to the AD104 on the 70 Super. But that does allow for its major boost found with the CUDA cores, as it has 8,448 compared to 7,168, a whole 1,280 more in the Ti Super than 70 Super.

It also boosts the clock speeds of the GPU as well. The 4070 Ti Super boosts the overclock much faster, with a boost up to 2.61GHz compared to 2.48, although the base is also higher at 2.34GHz instead of 1.98GHz. Another benefit of the improved processor is the better memory setup you can achieve, not only does the capacity jump up to 16GB, but also the memory bus has widened. Up to 256-bit from 192 means a higher bandwidth. It jumps up to over 716GB/s instead of 504GB/s allowing it to improve its performance capabilities at higher resolutions, especially at 4k.

This does come at a cost though, it also increases the TGP up to 285W instead of 220W. This means all the extra specs and performance will require more power to run and improve, which means it will cost you more to run it and enjoy the higher framerates.

RTX 4070 Ti Super vs 4070 Super performance

Looking at the RTX 4070 Ti Super review by TechPowerUp we can see the difference in performance between them. In particular the averages across 25 games and three main resolutions to find the gap between them. Starting at 1080p, the 70 Ti Super achieves a 177.8FPS average, compared to the 157.6 of the 4070 Super. At 1440p that goes down to a 137.5 and 118.6 FPS average, whilst 4k changes to an 80.8 and 67.5 FPS respectively. Overall, that makes the 4070 Ti Super 12-19% better than the 4070 Super across the three resolutions.

How much more expensive is the 4070 Ti Super vs 4070 Super?

Of course with the improved specs of the card you can expect to have to pay more for it. Although it doesn’t increase it over the non-Super offering, it does come at a higher price than the non-Ti. The RTX 4070 Ti Super comes in $200 above the 4070 Super. They have a launch price of $599 and $799 respectively. But they will be at different performance levels for different resolutions, so deciding which one depends on your use case and if you need the performance.

Is the 4070 Ti Super worth it over the 4070 Super?

The RTX 4070 Ti Super vs 4070 Super the Ti is definitely better in performance, however, it does come at a 33% higher cost at a minimum. That is a large cost to pay for only up to a 20% increase, as it still can manage 4K performance at a minimum with a slightly lower price tag. Both bring a look at what the original cards should have been at the beginning. However, an alternative is the AMD Radeon offerings that can bring a lot of value, although Nvidia’s DLSS 3 and features are also a good opportunity where it is supported.

Final word

With the RTX 4070 Ti Super offering a solid performance uplift compared the 4070 Super, you may want to think about it. However, considering the difference in price between these two, the value for money isn’t quite there in our eyes. The 4070 Super also looks great in terms of efficiency levels, making it an appealing option for a wide range of builds.
