They go on to praise it’s solid performance in 1440p – while yet again comparing it to the RTX 3080 and pointing out the 4070 has a lower power draw for efficiency. DLSS 3 is one of the biggest factors which separate the two generations of course, and this is something which contrasts these two GPUs.
Engadget comes in with an overall score of 88/100 – pretty good we’d say. They go on to call the RTX 4070 ‘The new 1440p gaming leader’ as many of us would expect. This of course takes over from the previous generation 3070 and sits below the 4070 Ti, which may be too much off a price hike for some to consider.
Eurogamer also leads with the RTX 4070 being a challenger to the RTX 3080, along with the lower MSRP of $599. As you’d expect, this is another review praising the 1440p performance increase for the price. They go on to do further comparisons to the 3080, pointing out the additional 2GB of VRAM for the 4070 and all-important support for DLSS 3.
