Could Google Bard cost money in the future?
As with any large language model, there are potential risks involved. Google is mindful of these risks and is taking steps to mitigate them. But as AI chatbots continue to evolve, it remains to be seen how they will impact our daily lives and how we interact with technology. However, as with many Google services, there is a possibility that a subscription model could be introduced in the future. Google is confident that user feedback will help improve the technology and plans to ramp it up over time based on that feedback.
Google’s latest offering, Bard, is making waves in the AI chatbot arena. With Google Bard access now available to a much larger pool of potential testers. The company plans to expand its access to more countries and languages in the future, with a full release coming at some point later in 2024.
Bard was built on Google’s LaMDA, an AI model designed for language learning and dialogue applications, similar to OpenAI’s GPT-4, which powers ChatGPT. It has since shifted to the PaLM 2 model, giving it a better understanding of logic, maths, and more.
Bard’s features include helping users to write essay drafts, plan events such as baby showers, and even suggest lunch ideas based on the contents of one’s fridge. Despite being a stand-alone application, Bard is available to the general public for free in the regions where it is available. With Google’s reputation for innovative technology, the AI community is excited to see how Bard will fare against its rival ChatGPT in the chatbot market.
