The dust has now settled on the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB it’s time for the upgraded version of the GPU to release. Now there are some disappointing options on the low end the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB release date might change it up. The official time period is for July, and you’d expect some news and information on the card. But it seems a rather quiet and potentially paper launch of the variant of the GPU.

The benchmark review roundup of the 8GB card shows the GPU is a bit middling with nothing too exciting about it. It seems the 8GB of VRAM and limited bandwidth really throttling its potential and it not even beating out the 3060 Ti by much. But if you’re still looking at where to buy the RTX 4060 Ti, we have compiled a list of likely retailers for the launch. Now the 16GB version of the card might offer an improvement on that and we see what it has to offer.

RTX 4060 Ti release date

No other information was provided by Nvidia after the July launch period. Videocardz reported leaked embargo dates for the GPU. That shows that the card was to be on shelves on the 18th of July. Now with the date come and gone, we think it has launched. There are plenty of brands that announced the availability of the card, and plenty of listings have come up for it as well, even a new driver for the card was released. However, no reviews launched alongside the embargo, with no seeding in place for them to occur, and we have to wait for actual stock to get any hands-on.

RTX 4060 Ti price

The previous generation provided us with the massively popular 3060 Ti, which was one of the best mid-range cards based on its price-to-performance ratio. Naturally, many are expecting to see the 4060 Ti take its place – and it’s a tough act to follow.

The price is officially here for the RTX 4060 Ti launch. This was one of the hardest things to pin down prior to any official news, but it’s nice to see that Nvidia is bringing some value to the table. Here’s how the two variants of the RTX 4060 Ti shape up.

  • RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) price: Starting at $399 / £389
  • RTX 4060 Ti (16GB) price: Starting at $499 / £479

Is the RTX 4060 Ti powerful enough to justify an upgrade?

As the reviews dropped for the MSRP cards, they show that the 4060 Ti 8GB is not too great of a choice. In particular, the TechSpot review gives us a good average to compare between other options available. And the GPU isn’t too great of an upgrade, especially over the RTX 3060 Ti.

The 4060 Ti 8GB averages 111 FPS at 1080p, 78 at 1440p, and 38 at 4k. Whereas the RTX 3060 Ti averages out 102, 74, and 37 FPS respectively. Therefore you only get a boost of up to 8% in raw performance. That means it doesn’t really make sense to make that jump up. It would only warrant an upgrade from many generations ago like if you still have a Pascal card. Although even then, you still might have limited capabilities in higher resolutions, as the memory bus and bandwidth are a limitation for future use, especially since the 30 series card has a much better solution for that.

The only benefit it has over that option is the inclusion of DLSS 3 and its frame generation. But that is yet to be included in every single game and the older option might save you some money if you find a good sale on it from time to time.Maybe the 16GB model will offer a better improvement.

How does the 4060 Ti compare to other GPUs?
