Who’s Going To Be At GamesCom 2019?
What brings in so many people each year is what games companies decide to show at the convention. This year’s lineup has some seriously heavy-hitters, and we’re expecting to hear news about a lot of our favorite upcoming titles and consoles. You can check out the full list of exhibitors here, but here’s the lowdown on the publishers we’re most excited to see.
Nintendo
With the recent announcement of the Nintendo Switch Lite, we’re excited to see some hands-on gameplay of the new console and the games that will be released alongside it. This hopefully means some sneak peeks at Pokemon Sword and Shield, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. We might even get some more news on Detective Pikachu, which Nintendo has already confirmed, but shared very little information around.
Ubisoft
We should hopefully get to see more updates on Watch Dogs Legion that’s slated to release next spring. And, we can keep hoping that this will be the convention when they announce the next game in the Assassin’s Creed saga; Ragnarok or not.
Sony
With Sony ducking out of E3 this year, we didn’t get to see a glimpse of the upcoming PS5. But, since they’ve confirmed their attendance at GamesCom, does this mean we could finally have the chance to see the next-gen console in action? We hope so.
Square Enix
The Final Fantasy VII remake is inching closer each day. Now that the first part is available to pre-order, we’re hoping we might get to try out the game for ourselves, or maybe even get a glimpse at the next game in the series.
CD Projekt Red
With Cyberpunk 2077 the next game to be released from these guys, we should hopefully get some more gameplay and information on it at GamesCom. And, of course, we’ll all be carefully watching for any news on a possible Witcher 4 release as well. They may have been tight-lipped in the past, but we’re still confident that they won’t let this franchise die.
Bethesda
Could this be when we finally get some more solid information on Elder Scrolls 6? After announcing that the game was planned back in 2018, we’ve been starved of new information. It seems pretty clear that this will be a next-gen console release, but GamesCom could be our chance at getting a confirmed release date, and even some game footage to swoon over.
Blizzard
While most famous for Warcraft and World of Warcraft, Blizzard has also garnered a loyal following for their Diablo games. They announced that a Diablo 4 was on the cards back at GamesCom in 2013 – could this year’s GamesCom be our chance at more news? We hope so, it’s been six long years.
Activision
The Call of Duty game publishers are going to be making an appearance at Games Com this year, which means we should hopefully get a closer look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and what the new game will look like.
Final Word
We’ll be sharing regular updates throughout the event, as soon as things are announced so make sure to keep an eye on our GamesCom 2019 page for all the latest news.
