Figuring out how to cancel a Twitch Prime membership (also known as Prime Gaming) can be a tricky little prospect. If you aren’t that tech-savvy, actually cancelling your membership can be both time-consuming and a little stressful. Fortunately, unsubscribing from the service isn’t actually that difficult.

In the following article, we’ll be showing you the quickest and easiest way to cancel a Twitch membership – keeping both your Twitch and Amazon Prime accounts in the process.

So, with plenty to get through, let’s waste no further time and dive straight into it!

What is Twitch Prime?

Twitch Prime is a rewards scheme for Amazon Prime subscribers. By connecting your Amazon Prime account to your Twitch account, you’ll be open to a number of different benefits – including a free subscription, game content, and a whole host of other extras.

You have the opportunity to subscribe to one channel for free (usually costs $4.99 per month), allowing you to utilize all the benefits of a paying subscription. This is another great way to support your favourite Twitch streamers.

Furthermore, some games, including League Of Legends and Warframe will also offer exclusive in-game content for Prime members only.

How to cancel Twitch Prime membership

There are a few different ways in which to cancel your Twitch Prime membership. Luckily, all methods are fairly straightforward.

This method cancels Twitch Prime through Twitch itself.

Log in to your Twitch account

First things first, log into your Twitch account.

Navigate to the Settings menu

Under the profile Icon, find and click the settings menu.

Inside settings, click the ‘Connections’ tab

On the top menu bar, select the ‘Connections’ tab from the available options. Inside here, you will see all the other accounts you have connected to your Twitch profile.

Disconnect your Amazon account

Simply click the disconnect button found on the right-hand side of the Amazon connection box.

You will be asked to confirm the removal of Amazon Prime from your Twitch account – simply click ‘Confirm’.

And that’s all there is to it – you have successfully disabled/removed/cancelled your Twitch Prime connection. Don’t worry, if you ever want to reconnect the account, simply follow our tutorial for connecting Amazon Prime to Twitch.

Does this method work with mobile and tablet?

Unfortunately, if you connected your Twitch account via a mobile, this method won’t work for you. You’ll have to disable the connection within the mobile application. Luckily, the method is fairly similar, only requiring a phone to actually perform the removal.

Can I redeem my free subscription?

Once you cancel your Twitch Prime membership, you will no longer be subscribed to that particular channel. The only way to redeem your free subscription is to link your Amazon and Twitch together.
