The GeForce 40-series has gotten a Super makeover, which leaves us searching for the best gaming monitor for RTX 4070 Ti. Once you’ve already figured out whether you want to buy the new card (read our RTX 4070 Ti Super review to help you work this out), and where to buy the 4070 Ti Super, the next thing on your shopping list may be a new display to make the most of this GPU’s impressive performance. Some of the best gaming monitors out there pair well with the 4070 Ti Super, and we’ve picked out a selection to talk about today. Right off the bat, two OLED options in the Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 and BenQ MOBIUZ EX480UZ make the cut.

The RTX 4070 Ti Super is a powerhouse for 1440p gaming, perfect for high refresh rate monitors at this resolution. The specs show that a VRAM buff up to 16GB over the 4070 Ti makes it a stronger option for 4K gaming as well, so this is important if you’re interested in high-resolution gameplay. We’ll focus on these two resolutions – but don’t forget about ultrawides either – while keeping this page up to date as and when necessary.

Kicking things off with a 1440p OLED monitor from Corsair. We were lucky enough to closely inspect this display in our Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 review and it remains one of our favorite gaming monitors to date. Nvidia themselves recommend the 4070 Ti Super for high-refresh rate 1440p gaming, and that’s exactly what you get from the 27QHD240. The 27″ screen size isn’t overbearing and fits well in pretty much any kind of desktop setting and is ideal for this resolution.

At the heart of this monitor is the OLED panel, delivering a super quick 0.03ms response time, so ghosting or motion blur should be no worry at all. The high 240Hz refresh rate is perfect for competitive gaming, ensuring smooth and fluid visuals. This is backed up by VRR tech in the form of AMD FreeSync Premium (and it’s G-Sync compatible for good measure).

Overall, it’s hard to flaw this display, though it will set you back a good chunk of cash. Burn-in may be a worry for some, but Corsair offer good warranty and burn-in prevention tech such as Image Retention Refresh and ORBIT to prevent static pixels over long periods.

Cons
  • Requires a lot of space

If you want to upgrade to 4K for crystal-clear clarity, then upping the screen size is an option available to you. We reviewed the BenQ MOBIUZ EX480UZ and were left impressed with the specs in play, even if this large screen size isn’t for everyone. If you want more 4K, including smaller 32″ or 27″ displays, see our best 4K gaming monitor page. Back on topic though; the EX480UZ is perfect if you want something immersive – and have the space to accommodate it. Anyone looking for a console gaming monitor can also consider this a great hybrid option which merges the best of gaming monitors and gaming TVs.

The 4K screen is ideal for high-end gaming, and while the refresh rate caps out at just 120Hz, it is suitable for the 4070 Ti Super’s performance at this resolution. BenQ advertise a 0.1ms GTG response time on this monitor, the kind of responsiveness we expect from an OLED display. You also benefit from FreeSync Premium for good measure. The EX480UZ also has great speakers, especially for a monitor, including a 10W subwoofer for bass tones.

Pros

  • Vivid IPS panel
  • 0.5ms response time
  • High 170Hz refresh rate
Cons
  • No HDMI 2.1 or USB-C connectivity

If you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly, then the GIGABYTE M27Q is our monitor of choice. This is another 1440p gaming monitor, but it won’t set to back as much as something like the OLED panels above. It plays it modestly at under $300, but that doesn’t mean you don’t get excellent specs. Fitted into this display is an IPS panel, which has long been one of the go-to options for gamers and creative users as well.

IPS offers accurate color reproduction and a wide viewing angle, which is ideal for gaming. This type of panel has been pushed for low response times as well, with just 0.5ms for minimal ghosting. Pair that with a high 170Hz refresh rate, and you’ve got yourself a fantastic display to compliment your RTX 4070 Ti Super.

Again, the 1440p resolution works well with at 27-inch screen and is a great option for something like a dual monitor setup. Connectivity isn’t up to scratch with the very latest standards, but good enough for what this monitor needs. You get HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 ports, as well as USB 3.0 for external peripherals with KVM support as well.

Pros
  • Ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio
  • Immersive 38″ screen
  • High resolution for clear visuals
  • Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate
Cons
  • Requires plenty of desk space

Alienware are no strangers to putting out some of the best ultrawide monitors we’ve ever seen, and the AW3821DW is a good example of this. While this may be a few years old by now, it still holds up as one of our top picks. Our Alienware AW3821DW review got into the finer details, but we can give you brief summary here. With a large 38″ screen at a fairly unusual (but stunning) 3840 x 1600 resolution, this gaming monitor is well suited for productivity as well. It is great for immersive gameplay if that’s what you’re interested in and the 2300R curvature aids that.

This also features an IPS panel for strong color accuracy and decent HDR performance thanks to a DisplayHDR 600 rating. The wide viewing angle is also important for an ultrawide. The 1ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate fall in line with what we’d recommend for a gaming monitor at the very least. The RTX 4070 Ti Super will perform well at this higher resolution, which isn’t quite a pixel-dense as 4K, but a step above 1440p.

Things to consider

Before you buy a new monitor, there is plenty to think about. The RTX 4070 Ti Super is great for gaming, so you’ll want a monitor that backs that up.

Resolution & screen size

Starting with the resolution of your screen. As we’ve mentioned, Nvidia pitch the 4070 Ti Super as an amazing GPU for high refresh rate 1440p gaming. The power behind this card is great for this resolution and many gamers see it as a good spot in between 1080p and 4K. If you’re instead thinking about 4K, a much higher refresh rate rate isn’t strictly necessary, but we’d target something like 144Hz at least. If you’re fine with 1080p for now, know that the 4070 Ti Super is fairly overkill here.

The best monitor size for gaming can be quite a subjective thing, and screen size is generally in correlation with the resolution. Screen size alone doesn’t affect performance.

Refresh rate

For gaming, refresh rate is an important specification you should pay attention to. This is how many times a second your screen refreshes, measured in hertz. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother the visuals, and we’d recommend 144Hz or above. The RTX 4070 Ti Super is great for outputting a high framerate to match a high refresh rate. Even if you don’t meet the exact refresh rate, VRR tech such as FreeSync helps prevent screen tearing.

Response time

Another important spec is response time – this is how quickly the pixels on your screen change color. You want this to be swift as to avoid any motion blur-like effects such as ghosting. For gaming, a 1ms or quicker response time is what we’d recommend. Panel types such as OLED are known for their excellent responsiveness, reaching as low as 0.03ms in some screens.

Price

Lastly, price is a factor when buying and kind of hardware. Monitors differ drastically in price depending on the resolution, screen size, performance specs, and build quality. You should always set yourself a budget, and we show off a great value option in this guide to help you save some cash. Panel types such as OLED or Mini-LED are generally the most expensive. Even the likes of stunning IPS screens offer great value these days.

Is a 4K monitor good for RTX 4070 Ti Super?

Nvidia’s own tests revealed a lot of about the RTX 4070 Ti Super early on, showing off its prowess at 1440p resolutions. However, this GPU is also capable when playing at 4K, so we’d say that opting for a 4K monitor is a good idea if you want only the best visual fidelity. The upgrade to 16GB of VRAM and a 256-bit memory bus makes this card more capable at higher resolutions than its predecessor.

Furthermore, the DLSS 3 and frame generation technology embedded in these 40-series cards helps boost framerates if you’re playing a particularly demanding game. This helps you match or exceed the refresh rate of your gaming monitor for smooth gameplay.
