Do the PSVR 2 Controllers Work with PS4?
We’re already aware that the PSVR 2 controllers are natively designed to function with the PSVR 2 headset. However, these controllers won’t work with much else, including your PS4. Moreover, Sony has also revealed that the PSVR 2 will also not be backward compatible with the PSVR, which, according to Hideaki Nishino, is to maintain a “next-generation VR experience.”
The original PSVR Move controllers could create a bottleneck for one or both of the devices due to their hardware capabilities compared to the requirements of PSVR2.
Moreover, the PSVR 2 controllers will also not allow you to play regular PS5 games since they don’t feature the typical D-Pad and joysticks that are included in the DualSense controllers.
For now, the PSVR 2 controllers are only compatible with the PSVR 2 headset and nothing else. But we might know more once the PSVR 2 set is launched. Until then, we can only keep an eye out for the latest updates from Sony.
