Does PSVR 2 Require a TV to Work?
You will need to use a TV when you’re initially setting up your PSVR 2. However, you can use it without your TV. Furthermore, your PS5 menus will be directly displayed on your headset without the need to connect it to your TV. You can turn off your TV while you’re playing PSVR 2 games, as its gameplay doesn’t require a TV.
It’s vital to note Sony has also included a UI for PSVR 2, similar to the UI for PS5 when watching on a TV screen. There will be minor optimizations when you’re viewing this UI through your PSVR 2 headset.
The optimizations will include the layout for sections such as the Create menu and Control Center, the rendering of the font for optimization, and the position of the notification display.
Moreover, if you’re playing with a TV, you will also be able to switch between PSVR 2 and PS5 games seamlessly.
How to connect PSVR 2 to TV
Well, you’ll need a PS5 first. But the PSVR 2 setup process is super simple and way less arduous that the mess of cables needed for the original PSVR. All you need to do is plug in the USB type-C cable to the corresponding port on the front of the PS5.
