Generally, a resolution of 3440×1440 or 2560×1080 is considered standard for ultrawide monitors. However, if you are using the monitor for gaming or video editing, a better resolution such as 5120×2160 or 3840×1600 will probably prove more suitable. The higher resolution comes at a cost though – but if your bank account can handle it, it’s worth it.
Can I use an ultrawide monitor with a laptop?
Yes! Most ultrawide monitors are compatible with laptops. You can connect your laptop to the monitor using an HDMI or DisplayPort cable, or through a docking station. Some newer laptops also have a USB-C port that supports video output, which also can be used to connect to an ultrawide monitor.
