Dead Island 2’s Curveballs are a handy way of dealing with multiple enemies at once, and act as your grenades that will appear on the bottom left of your screen. You can earn the Curveballs in a variety of different ways from completing sections of the game’s main missions, to purchasing them off of merchants.

You can read all about how to use Curveballs here, but in this guide we will outline all of the different Curveballs you can find in Dead Island 2.

How many Curveballs are there in Dead Island 2?

There are 13 curveballs in total for players to swap between in Dead Island 2, but you can only have 2 equipped at a time. So which Curveballs to use is a big problem for players, and only after you try them all will you know which one is best for you.

Meat Bait

  • Meat Bait is the first Curveball you will unlock in Dead Island 2, you will receive it free of charge from Carlos after the Call the Cavalry questline. After you throw Meat Bait, all nearby zombies will be drawn to its location as a distraction.

Shuriken

  • The Shuriken is found stuck in a car as you work towards the Halperin Hotel as part of the story. When these are thrown at zombies it causes damage and has a good chance of taking off limbs.

Chem Bomb

  • Found inside the Halperin Hotel as part of the main story during the room service for Major Booker mission. The Chem Bomb is useful for putting out fires either in the world or on zombies, and also dazes a zombie for a few seconds.

Electric Star

  • Found in the Brentwood Water Facility after you complete the O Michael Where Art Thou main story mission. Similar to the shuriken, but also applies shock damage to zombies too.

Molotov Cocktail

  • The Molotov is a classic of all games now and luckily Dead Island 2 doesn’t disappoint. You will find the molotov in the Brentwood Sewer as part of the main story, you will need it to get past a section full of Slobbers. The Molotov explodes on impact covering the enemy in flames.

Caustic-X Bomb

  • Found as a reward for the Ravages of Caustic-X sidequest. A bomb that when thrown explodes, covering zombies in caustic and melting them away.

Military Grenade

  • Found after completing the Boz Makes a Bang side mission. A grenade that when thrown explodes, taking out a big radius of zombies.

Flashbang

  • Available after completing the Cremains of the Day sidequest with Warrant Office Rodriguez, she will sell it to you. Stuns all zombies impacted, making them open to being countered.

Sticky Bomb

  • Sold by the trader inside of the Serling Hotel. Sticks to enemies, or any surface, will explode after a couple seconds.

Nail Bomb

  • Found in Ocean Avenue, found during The Search for Truth quest towards the end of the game. Explodes after a few seconds and shoots nails out when it does, maims zombies as well as causing bleed.

Bait Bomb

  • Available from the same trader who sells you the Stick Bomb in the Serling Hotel. Lures zombies in like the Meat Bait but will explode after a few seconds, destroying all the drawn in zombies.

Electric Bomb

  • Reward for completing Jo’s Secret Stash Lost and Found mission. Works like a normal bomb but shocks zombies within its radius.
