Many MMORPGs make changing classes difficult or time-consuming. Luckily, Final Fantasy 14 makes it easy. In fact, if you’ve already unlocked the other classes then you can change your class as really easily.

Make sure you know if Final Fantasy 14 stops being free after level 60 and the mistakes beginners make before starting to collect these classes.

Below we’ll go through everything you’ll need to know about changing character classes / jobs in FFXIV.

How to change classes in Final Fantasy 14

Here’s how to quickly change classes in Final Fantasy 14:

  1. Reach level 10 with your current class.
  2. Find a quest for another class on your map.
  3. Complete the quest to start the new class.
  4. Equip the new class’s weapon to change to it.

Before changing classes, you first need your character to have a different class/job in the first place. To do this, you first need to reach job level 10 for the job you picked for your character at the very start, which will give you a job quest.

Here are some additional tips:

  • You can have all of the classes on a single character, so feel free to experiment with different ones.
  • There are no penalties for changing classes, so you can switch back and forth as often as you like.
  • If you’re not sure which class to try next, we recommend trying the Dark Knight.

How to get new classes in Final Fantasy XIV

To get a new class, you first need to reach level 10 with your current class. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to see quests for other classes on your map. For example, if you’re a Gladiator, you’ll see a quest called So, You Want to Be a Lancer. This quest will take you to the Lancer’s guild, where you can start the Lancer class.

When you complete that job quest, you’ll unlock different quests for different jobs. For example, say, you picked gladiator as your starting class and got it to level 10 as well as completed the job quest. Now, you’ll be able to see additional quests on the map related to different jobs.
