With the new season of Fortnite, Chapter 4 Season 3, being released, many fans are eager to get started leveling up their Battle Pass and earning those sweet, sweet skins. However, that also meant it was the last chance to get the cosmetics from Chapter 4 Season 2. The Battle Pass rewards levels with those cosmetics and levels can be purchased in the Fortnite Shop.

Yet, a Reddit post showed some players could have been to purchase levels for free.

Fortnite Battle Pass glitch showed players able to purchase levels for free

A post on the r/FortNiteBR subreddit by Mr_Guy459 shows Fortnite players seemingly able to purchase levels for free. The user thought this seemed strange, titling the post “I don’t think that’s right”. However, the store ended up not allowing them to buy any Fortnite levels on the last day of Chapter 4 Season 2. The post is gaining a lot of attention, as other players say they were facing the same issue.

The user had plenty of V-Bucks to cover the cost even if they did charge full price, but the store still did not allow the player to purchase any levels or receive any Battle Pass stars.

Many said this is not the first time this has occurred, and many, including user ItsAmbrosity, believe Epic Games didn’t even acknowledge it since it was so close to the downtime for the new season to come in, saying “Who knows, it could’ve even been on purpose”.

Many players spent the last day of the season grinding their way up to get all the cosmetics, wanting to finish up the Battle Pass and complete the skins that were still available until the new season arrived. When they tried to purchase levels in the shop, though, many fans found themselves unable to, despite the prince seemingly being zero.

User awkwardcartography submitted a complaint to technical support about the issue, and while no answer was given on the status of the bug, he got this instead: “This morning got the superstyle I was gonna buy in my inventory”. Whether this was due to his message or last-minute XP calculations is unknown.

Epic may not have wanted to spend any time fixing bugs from the old season when they were going to have their hands full with all the bugs that could happen with the release of a new Fortnite season, which could explain why they did not answer. It seems Epic is focusing all its attention on the new Chapter 4 Season 3.
