New Fortnite season theme makes players groan

The announcement of another wild / primal-themed chapter of Fortnite has players at odds.
The previous season of Fortnite dropped players in a futuristic Japanese landscape in the form of the MEGA City, but now the island seems to be reverting back to a more primitive setting and players are having mixed reactions.
Players seem to be tired of the Wild / Primal theme
The newest trailer for Chapter 4 Season 3 of Fortnite was met with great initial excitement, but now some players are debating the decision to destroy MEGA City. In a comment to a Reddit Post on the new season, user u/Square_Success_2247 plainly said, “Seriously is it another primal season.”
Fortnite players seem to feel like the game is taking steps back as soon as they tread new territory. Chapter 3 offered a lot of firsts to the game and players are sad to see it go. In response to the news, Reddit user u/FunnyCobra002 stated, “It’s like we’re evolving but backwards.”
This is the third primal themed season we’ve seen in Fortnite, but some players speculate that this new chapter may be more about jungle themed exploration. Reddit user u/InfiniteOcto commented, “Nah it’ll (probably) be more along the themes of Jungle and Adventure, more Aztec-y and less prehistoric-y.”
In Chapter 3 Season 3, an Indiana Jones skin, unlockable by Battle Pass, was offered. If it’s true that the upcoming chapter will be focused on jungle exploration then he would definitely have been more at home in this setting, but maybe his inclusion was a sign of what is to come.
The newest chapter in Season 3 has a hard act to follow as Chapter 3 was praised by players for its cyberpunk Japanese-inspired aesthetic, but still, players remain optimistic for the upcoming Chapter 4 Season 3 release.
Reddit user u/Silkysocks777 commented about Chapter 3 Season 3, “I loved this season’s theme sooooo much! Next season looks amazing, and the Jungle theme looks so good. Chapter 4 has easily had some of the best themes for seasons. I can’t wait for next season. Things are about to get WILD.”
