The latest Fortnite update was released on Tuesday, June 13, and has brought rather big changes to the loot pool. Epic Games vaulted the Red-Eye Assault Rifle with it, replacing it with a fan-favorite weapon from Chapter 3.
This is a rather surprising change since we’re still early in the new season, but many players will love it.
Latest Fortnite update has brought two big changes to the loot pool
The Red-Eye Assault Rifle is a slow-firing fully-automatic weapon that was first released with Chapter 4 – Season 1. Considering that it’s been in the video game for more than six months, it makes sense that Epic Games vaulted it.
There are a few more assault rifles available in the new season of Fortnite Battle Royale, including the new FlapJack Rifle. However, Epic has unvaulted a fan-favorite weapon from Chapter 3, the MK-Seven Assault Rifle.
The weapon comes with a slightly different name and is now called the MK-Alpha Assault Rifle. It comes in six different rarities, including the Mythic rarity which can be obtained by eliminating a boss.
Here are the stats for the Legendary (Gold) variant of the fan-favorite weapon:
- Damage: 26
- Magazine size: 30
- Fire rate: 7
- Reload time: 3.15 seconds
- DPS: 182
The magazine size and fire rate are the same for every variant of the MK-Alpha Assault Rifle. However, its damage varies from 22 (Common) to 28 (Mythic). Furthermore, higher-quality variants of the weapon have a shorter reload time.
Shortly after the new season came out, many Fortnite leakers claimed that the fan-favorite weapon would return. However, they believed that the weapon would be released with a major update, which wasn’t the case.
The MK-Seven Assault Rifle was the first weapon in the game to have a first-person perspective, which is why many players love it. It’s very powerful and will likely be one of the most popular weapons in the new season as well.
