The Fortnite x Lego collaboration was first announced in April 2022. Epic Games and The LEGO Group announced, “they were entering a long-term partnership to shape the future of the metaverse to make it safe and fun for children and families.”

Not much has been seen since the announcement of the long-term partnership, but players on Twitter have discovered a possible upcoming LEGO-inspired weapon.

Upcoming Chain Launcher seems to use LEGO Chains

In a Twitter post by HYPEX, a video of the upcoming Chain Launcher’s gameplay is showcased. The video doesn’t leave much to speculate about initially as it is just a video of a player shooting chains and attaching them to vehicles and structures.

Another Twitter user @chaosatlowes pointed out the design of the chains and how similar they are to the look of LEGO chains.

Other fans have pointed out that the chains don’t bear any resemblance at all. Twitter user _Twisted_Minds posted an image before commenting, “Idk what Legos ya’ll have but these are actual Lego chains lol.”

This seemed to cast doubt on a possible soon-to-release LEGO x Fortnite collaboration, but LEGO fans were quick to offer their knowledge. Twitter user Reese2saucy commented, “Those are Lego System chains, the ones in the post are Lego Technic chains.”

Many players agreed, stating that there are different kinds of LEGO chains. It seems that if Fortnite players are willing to debate whether or not a close-up image of a chain is made of LEGO then it may be safe to say that this long-awaited LEGO x Fortnite collaboration has playing chomping at the bit for what may be revealed next.
