Crafting the perfect loadout in MW2 is a fine art. Not only do you need to set up the right weapons attachments to go with the right perks and killstreaks. It gets even more complex now that there are weapons tuning allowing you to fine-tune each of your attachments to give the tight boost where you need it. Making a good loadout can take over an hour for some and now a bug is going around that threatens to delete all of your custom loadouts after a match. How To Avoid The Loadout Deletion Bug In MW2
The loadout deletion bug seems to be linked to the main menu not fully loading in after a match. This Reddit post covers the bug in detail and shows that if your main menu is not loaded in fully, going to your loadouts screen will have them all missing.
According to comments on the post, this is not the first time this bug has been in the game, so players are familiar with this bug. The bug is even reported to have been active in 2019’s Modern Warfare and is still not fixed in that game as well. It was supposedly fixed a while ago but it seems something with the season 3 update has brought it back.
This bug can be even more frustrating if it were to happen to any of your perfect ranked loadouts and weapons, so make sure to take your time letting the menus load between matches of ranked in order to not lose your loadouts for that.
Although the bug is doing massive damage to players, it can be easily avoided by just menuing a little slower. It seems that this bug might be affecting older consoles and PC with slower loading times as they take longer to get the menu ready after every match. However, even a top-of-the-line PC can experience this bug if you get a bit unlucky going to the main menu.
How To Avoid Having My Loadouts Deleted?
The bug seems to be caused by viewing your loadouts before the menu fully loads after a match. Just wait on the main screen until everything on the menu fully loads to avoid having your loadouts deleted.
Can I Get Back Deleted Loadouts?
Sadly, no. Once your loadouts have been deleted by the bug there is no way to recover them. Making your weapons in blueprints can allow you to quickly remake the loadout but you still have to select all the perks again.
