State of Decay 2 Homecoming is an update for State of Decay 2, a zombie apocalypse life simulator by Xbox Game Studios and Undead Labs. It brings players back to Trumbull Valley, the setting of the original State of Decay on Xbox 360.
Homecoming makes up the third act in the Trumbull Valley saga and some of it’s missions will wrap up ongoing plot lines from the very beginning of the series. A Trumbull Valley map update has been requested by State of Decay 2 fans for a long time, as the original game has no online or co-op functionality.
The State of Decay 2 Homecoming release date was September 1, 2021. It is available as a free update for all existing versions of State of Decay 2.
State of Decay 2 Homecoming is a free update for State of Decay 2, even on Xbox One.
Players still on the Xbox One will still be able to play in co-op with their friends on PC and Xbox Series XS, too.
This State of Decay 2 homecoming trailer premiered at Gamescom on August 24, 2021. It focuses on the look and feel of the remastered State of Decay Trumbull Valley map and shows off a couple of gruesome zombie kills.
State of Decay 2 is a first party Microsoft game and has been on Xbox Game Pass since 2018. Unless there are rights issues, first party games don’t leave the service, so it should be on there for as long as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S games are supported.
