Looking to upgrade your motherboard? Gamesplanet and Republic Of Gamers have teamed up for a deal that gives you a free game, if you purchase one of Asus’ selected motherboards. Here’s how to cash in on the deal, and our picks for the games on offer.

ASUS ROG Motherboards

It’s not just a free game that will end up saving you money. The motherboards that ROG have included in the deal are also on sale as well, right now, giving you the chance to save up to £100!

At one end of the scale is the STRIX Z790-F, this motherboard is usually listed at £468.99, but with this deal, you’ll be able to buy it at £369.99 and get a free game with it as well. Both the Z790-F and the Z790-H, another motherboard on offer, have AI overclocking and AI cooling, to push your system to the limits while keeping the thermals and noise levels in check too.

The STRIX B760-A and STRIX B760-A D4 are the two other motherboards on offer. At just over the £200 mark, these are great options if you’re looking to build your first PC or upgrade your motherboard. Not only do they feature high-speed wireless networking and impressive system stability, thanks to their six layer PCB, but it also features a SupremeFX sound card for impeccable audio quality and AI noise cancellation to help keep in-game party chat crisp and clean.

Games on Offer

There are a bunch of games included in this deal, here are some of our favorites on offer:

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun

Warhammer 40K Boltgun

Retro gamers rejoice, this “boomer shooter” is well and truly in the spotlight. For those who feel like modern FPS games have lost their silliness, Boltgun is here to answer your prayers.

Not only does it have similar game mechanics to legendary shooters like Duke Nukem and Doom, but it also includes the iconic aesthetic of Warhammer 40K in an arcade-esque style. For fans of the 40K universe who are somewhat frustrated waiting for Space Marine 2, this is a godsend.

With super fast paced gameplay, arcade gore and an achingly satisfying chainsaw-punch, Boltgun is the antidote to the overhyped, vacuous AAA shooters of today.

Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is one of the big hitters in the gaming world. Like any legendary competitive fighting game, it requires a serious amount of work to play properly. But once you’ve put the hours in, you’ll see why there are international tournaments played all year round dedicated to it. Immense skill may be required to compete, but creativity and ingenuity are often required to adapt to the different styles of play.

It’s never too late to start playing, especially as 6 only came out in June, you’ve probably got another eight years until the next one comes out! So pick your main and get grinding.

Age of Wonders 4

To those who are experienced in 4X games, Age of Wonders needs no introduction, the fantasy game is known for its stunning aesthetics and in-game exploration.

4X games are a great change of pace for those who are tired of high intensity sweat fests. Instead of relying on adrenaline for entertainment, they are more about tactical play and satisfying development.

The Last Of Us Part 1

The Last Of Us is largely considered one of the best games of all time, so it’s not surprising that it has been remastered. With beautiful gameplay and an incredible story, the graphics and mechanics have been tweaked for the PS5, a far more powerful console than the PS3, which it originally launched on.

The biggest announcement, however, was the addition of the option to play it on the PC. This opened up the chance for PC gamers to experience the award-winning title for the first time.

Park Beyond

The last Rollercoaster Tycoon game available for PC, came out in 2004, while nostalgia is a powerful feeling, sadly, the aesthetic looks more dated than it does retro. If you’re looking for a rollercoaster game with the look of something like SimCity, Park Beyond is a perfect substitute. It’s been praised for its Disney-like animation and in-depth and engaging gameplay.

Perfect Pairings

Making sure you have the right motherboard for your system is integral. It’s the primary component that interconnects all of your hardware together, and provides the perfect platform to get the most performance out of your kit.

If you’re running a 4th gen graphics card from NVIDIA, and one of the latest 12th or 13th gen Intel processors, then the Z790-F is definitely a good pick to tie it all together. Combine that with its support for PCIe 5.0 (although only on 13th gen processors), expansive DDR5 support, and no less than 4x M.2 slots for all of the latest storage, and it makes it one of the best mobos around for any modern gaming PC. Did we mention the rear I/O on this thing as well? Seriously it has no less 10 USB Type-A ports of varying standards, 2x USB Type-C ports, 2.5Gb ethernet, WiFi 6E, and a full suite of audio to complement it as well. Got devices? Good.

If you’re on a bit of a tighter budget, and are really looking for the best bang for the buck, then we highly recommend the B760-A still with support for any of the latest 12th or 13th gen Intel chips, it features a lot of the same connectivity as the Z790-F listed above, but slightly paired down, saving you some cash, while still providing incredible performance in the process.
