AOC has been growing in popularity over the last couple of years and is now equipped with a lineup of gaming monitors that are both extremely well-priced and competitive in the performance department. However, one area where the budget-tailored brand seemed to lack was in the high-speed monitors, particularly in the upper refresh rate sector.

AOC has since put that rumour to bed, releasing their rapid AG254FG gaming monitor – showcasing a 360Hz refresh rate and low 1ms GTG response time. This panel slots into their ever-growing AGON range, where performance seems to trump budget and aesthetics. Having said that, the team at AOC still manages to churn out great monitors at a fraction of their competitor’s price – with the AG254FG expecting similar market pricing.

AOC AGON AG254FG Specifications

The AGON AG254FG will come equipped with all the high-performance features you’d expect on any great gaming monitor. At its heart lies a 24.5″ 1080p IPS panel that supports a wide color gamut and variable refresh rate technology (in the shape of G-sync and probably FreeSync). The main feature of this monitor is the impressive 360Hz refresh rate that pairs nicely with a 1ms GTG response time for a lucid gaming experience. Like many other IPS panels, the AG254FG will offer up a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 400 nits of brightness – with no signs of HDR. Great viewing angles are expected (178/178) alongside impressive color gamut coverage, equating to 110% sRGB or 85% DCI-P3. Whilst no details have been supplied regarding lag, we expect the AG254FG to produce very low input lag – especially when you consider the speed and G-Sync support.

Like always, the AG254FG will come equipped with all the usual AGON features – including overdrive and ULMB modes. As far as inputs are concerned, the AGON monitor will feature 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, 2 x HDMI 2.0, and 4 x USB 3.0 options – including audio jack inputs and 2 x 5W external speakers for general usage. Furthermore, with great stand ergonomics which include height, tilt, and swivel functionality, this monitor doesn’t seem to put a foot wrong.

Where Can I Buy The AOC AG254FG

At the time of writing this, the AOC AGON AG254FG isn’t actually available for purchase. However, we do expect more details regarding the official release date of this monitor in the coming months – so stay tuned for that one. We can begin to explore the potential price of this monitor though. It will likely fall into the lower price bracket as far as 360Hz monitors go – keeping to AOC’s budget-price methods that we’ve seen deployed in the past.
